damn it!

no nvidia you're not gonna trick me into abandoning the trusty 3070 and impulse-buy that 4070ti on the wishlist

say what you will about team green but they have a knack for creating demand (or rather the perception of it)

so i guess you should run this with DLSS 3.5 to get the best graphics/effects? but it also seems it has ghosting issues (which the game always had i guess), which you don't get if you don't use it.

the DLSS naming is so stupid. why not call it something else since it now is something else almost entirely from what i can gather.

yeah DLSS 3.5 is a must if you want it to look its best. well, apart from the ghosting which isn't so great looking perhaps, mostly a thing while driving i think.

in this video the Nvidia and CDPR guys are sucking each other off about how great DLSS and Path Tracing with Ray Reconstruction is.

some really annoying statements though ,about how AI generated frames are "Better" Than real ones Laughing Laughing

this is not a gimmick to those guys and a lot of other devs for that matter, they have embraced it fully

Laughing Yay for proprietary gimmicks to patch shite rendering

You can put RT overdrive a.k.a path tracing on with your 6800XT, but it will run like 5 fps, also ray reconstruction is not a gimmick.

Exactly, and CP2077 was the flagship for this latest trend, being unable to run decently on any existent rig without DLSS or FSR.
I wasn't impressed at all when the game ran at like 15FPS without DLSS on in the slightest.

That is the worst. Cannot stand that gameplay mechanic. And not just on enemies, it's on items as well(!) Forget upgrading anything you like because you'll pick up junk that'll be far better a few levels on...

WTF is up with these morons doing this. Especially when they didn't do it on Witcher 3 and it worked fine.

Same, it's a silly and exceptionally unrewarding mechanic that has no reason to exist Mad

I look forward to finally playing Kurwapunk in the near future* and while I already know that I'll have many conflicting feelings about it, I hope the pros will outweigh the cons...however, that kind of stuff certainly doesn't help. One thing is for sure, it'll take some readjusting to not-so-miraculous standards as well as a quality neuralyzer to forget what the game was originally meant to be.

*after more than a decade of humble service my old trusty banger is finally losing its sanity with random overheating sessions and black screens, so I'll have to lube up *soon-ish*

Just tested the police chase AI, and general AI in general

So far they don't teleport after getting stuck while driving which is cool. Some random started chasing me on a motorbike as well, I braked hard and he smacked into the back and went over the car Laughing

Runs really well too and looks amazing. ~130 frames on the 4080 maxed out 1440p

DLSS 'ray reconstruction' in this game is horrible. People's faces are fucked up and so are a lot of light sources. You turn it off and the difference is night and day.

If you want DLSS to look good, do not toggle that feature to on (it defaults to on). I played the first 30 mins with that shit thinking characters + close ups didn't look quite as good as I remembered.

It seems to be buggy too, it defaults to on if you change other settings, and sometimes you have to disable it twice for it to actually be disabled

It's also worth mentioning many auto aim features are enabled out of the box

If you look at decals with it on (signs on doors etc), they move around even if you stand still. The only time I didn't notice the artifacts was when I was driving around, but then the close ups started and something seriously felt off. Dude at the table looks like someone came on him.

Maybe I have the wrong settings, somehow, but whenever I turn it on, things look like shit again. I can't find a combo of settings where the game looks better (or as good as) regular old DLSS quality

Another tip - turn off cross platform saves if you don't want a ~3 second delay every time you want to load a save

Edit: lots of people mentioning you may need to update dll files manually for Ray Reconstruction to work properly, will try that next:

My game DLSS files were 3.1, I had the latest nVidia drivers and this was a fresh install. So I guess it's shipping with the wrong DLSS files? Updated to DLSS 3.5v2 and this is how it looks now:

On: https://i.imgur.com/coQyhi5.jpg

Off: https://i.imgur.com/wyzH2t4.jpg

You can see how the lighting on the table is affected as well, it looks like blurry compression artifacts. Then with it disabled, it looks like a regular table again (but the decals seem to move around no matter what):

Still better off IMO, but nowhere near as bad as before. DLSS Swapper can update the DLSS version easily enough:

https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper/releases

Edit: Lots of DLSS bugs in this update

Disable DLSS and every glitchy effect goes away... but then you get to play at 30-40FPS

Performance is markedly improved on my geriatric GTX 1080 @ 1080p over even just a year ago. Can get buttery smooth framerates with FSR 2.1 on Quality mode with almost every setting maxed and sharpening set to max.

I'm also a big fan of the new loot system - no more hunting and pecking for 1000x medkits and grenades. I am NOT a fan of busywork loot systems (I'm looking at you Starfield/Fallout et all.)

I don't know how I feel yet about the forced scaling - from what I remember, Very Hard difficulty before patch 2.0 was SUPER damage sponge enemies, until you got some levels under your belt and cheesed all the exploitable systems like silenced revolvers and stupid high multipliers. Didn't care for it to be honest, felt cheap forcing the player to "game the system" as it were.

Now, combat seems a lot less soaky, especially in the beginning. And while it's nice not having to faff about and pick out what areas to go when, they may have made combat a bit too easy now. Then again, this is my first time doing a netrunner build - so maybe they were always powerful?

Having said that - and I know this will probably get me crucified on here Very Happy - as of now I'm preferring the new system over the old.

Looks like this is finally in a playable state - THREE FUCKING YEARS after release. Laughing

Idk, from what i’ve seen it has some bugs yeh. However it’s like everything else, lots of pros, a few cons. If you don’t like the cons, you’re outta luck.

Waiting on the yarr to test with my 4090 but again.. from what I’ve seen in all the videos it’s a big win with some occasional downsides. Talking RR here.
