I could have probably waited a bit more (not really since I've been stuck with an Intel 3000 that can barely run Chrome ) but I already got a decent deal on the 13700k that I'll be pairing with a 4070, so the glorious potato finally got its replacement. Hopefully everything will arrive next week.
The i5 2500k is actually still alive and kicking despite thousands and thousandsand thousands of hours of intensive gaming over the years at semi-desert-like temps, it's definitely earned the new position of Senior MSOffice PC and VP of basic tasks.
i have a ryzen 1600 lying around that i cant be bothered to swap to lol, just had it with the industry and their moneygrabbs killing any excitement i had left

Yeah to say that it was long overdue is an understatement haha - fingers crossed for all the parts to work well (including the new 1440p monitor), the patient bear's patience has been tested even too much!
The Pagliafield Experience will have to wait though, I'll probably have some fun with it despite..everything, but I really need to see what the community will come up with to mitigate the game's inner hurrdurr-ness
Good on you ixigia and good choice for a decent combo.

Get financially gaped by early adoption of AM5 or buy much cheaper and solid 5000 CPU u can install on your current mobo?
Still on first gen Ryzen here on one of my computers, if I ever bother to upgrade it I sure as shit am not buying a whole new mobo and cpu for the price of an entire new computer lol. I'll just stick a $200 Ryzen 5000 CPU and feel great.
Congratz ixi on the upgrade sounds really really long overdue, you're gonna feel like a god.

Indeed, get a nice second hand 5800X3D it will make a huge difference for you.

i9 13900k & i7 13700k need fucking powerplant to run & gaming performance is with i9 less or leveled with 7800x3d. I really doubt 14th gen will be less power hungry or there will be significant increase in performance. So 7800x3d it is for me then... but...
Yesterday I added all the components (basically whole new PC, as I plan to sold the old one without GPU - hope to get around 500 EUR) and the final bill was 1400 EUR... so not exactly sold to this idea yet.... also heard horror stories regarding for AM5 and DDR5 boot issues, bsods...
this what I want to build... but is it worth? probably not
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
MB GIGABYTE X670 AORUS ELITE AX
Kingston FURY 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MHz CL36 Beast Black EXPO
Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black
M2 Samsung 990 PRO 2 TB
case: Lian Li Lancool II Mesh Performance Black
Seasonic Focus GX 850 Gold (for RTX 5080/90 future upgrade )
but if the AMD plans atleast two new CPU generations for X670 it might not be the worst idea...
Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Noctua NH D15 Chromax, ASUS TUF RTX 4070TI 12GB, GIGABYTE X670 AORUS ELITE AX, Corsair 2x16GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30, Samsung PRO 990 2TB, Intel 545s 512GB SSD, Seasonic Focus GX 850W Gold, Lian Li Lancool II Mesh Performance Black
I mean the worst thing is that I need 5 more fps in Cyberpunk 2077 (it dips to around 55fps in complex scenes with RT - cpu bottleneck & it pisses me off), so that's what makes it as worse idea ever to upgrade
the other game which will massively benefit and will be playable is MS Flight Simulator... it looks like that 7800x3d can go to 60fps even in big cities... bf2042 it will help also... but I am not playing that and kinda got used to 80fps cap...
Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Noctua NH D15 Chromax, ASUS TUF RTX 4070TI 12GB, GIGABYTE X670 AORUS ELITE AX, Corsair 2x16GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30, Samsung PRO 990 2TB, Intel 545s 512GB SSD, Seasonic Focus GX 850W Gold, Lian Li Lancool II Mesh Performance Black
I would try to go with DDR5 6000MHz CL30 if possible
should I replace with Corsair 32 GB KIT DDR5 6000 MHz CL30 Vengeance Grey EXPO (PC5-48000, CL30-36-36-76)? Actually 5 EUR cheaper, but didn't like the design.
I can return the Kingston sticks (CL36-38-40), but will it make difference?

lets hope they will post they are on supported list of my mobo so should be good, other issue might be they are taller than Fury sticks... so hope the DH15 fan will fit the case ....

You probably need to enable "power down enable" setting in bios @ memory settings, this made my rig as stable it can be, had major issues without that setting when EXPO was enabled.
so far no crashes with default bios settings + expo. Only few really random long post/boots (like 2 minutes pending on RAM, but yesterday it was flawless)
Anyway changed the order to non RGB one (same model)... as it will probably not fit or there will be risk I will not able to close the glass door on case. (+1cm for Corsair RGB modules)
I am also shocked there is no RGB on 300+ EUR motherboard for i9 I bought also Aorus and there was maybe too much RGB ... now nothing
thanks for tips
