We used to have 60$ games with 10x length and content of today's garbage "experiences", that were just 700MB (or 26MB for the UHA rips that take 21 hours to extract  ).

This isn't King Kong. It's "kong". I doubt this is even licensed, if it was it would absolutely be called King Kong. (and no "king kong" is not public domain yet).
I did notice the movie from 2017 is also called Kong.. maybe King Kong is in some licensing hell, or it's just way cheaper to not make use of a license and not call him that.

king kong or just a big gorilla called kong. i've seen others theorizing it's not a licensed game because of it.
again, it's not like it would be the first. so yes, it's a waste to not use the copyrighted name if you have a license for it. it's like if someone does a james bond game and instead of calling it james bond they call it "James", yet they've paid millions for the actual license of James Bond.
