Oh...I'm still copying the game from regular hdd to nvme...hopefully it will be slightly better.

That I guess it doesn't matter. My 3090 is really struggling with the game to be honest..

Yea. I had about 15 steam games and maybe about 20 fitgirl repacks installed on my HDD. I just ordered 2x 4TB Regular SSDs to replace the 4TB and 6TB regular drives...and I moved games I play to nvme drives Very Happy and going to replace my 1tb nvme with 2-4tb in next month.

There is no more audio delays when traveling in car. Everything loads almost right away!

Hotfix didn't fix the blurry textures issue. What did help was running the game in borderless instead of fullscreen. I mainly had it on fullscreen for HDR reasons since windows HDR can be finnicky.
it's not perfect still but a lot better. Games needs patches men

Disabling HDR in the graphics menu fixes this for some reason Laughing

Finished it (got all the collectibles as well)

What a fantastic journey. Very Happy Hats off to Remedy, they've done it again. The atmosphere is unmatched by anything else I've played this year. The last thing this good in terms of creating tension was probably RDR2 in 2019.

I thought BG3 would be my GOTY, but AW2 is pretty damn close.

The only things I disliked are some QOL features. Like the collectibles - if you find them, but don't pick them up/solve them (the Rhymes, Casey boxes etc), they appear on your map. When you solve them/pick them up, they disappear from the map, BUT they're not crossed out or faded out, they're just gone. Therefore when you're missing one final rhyme/box you either have to rely on your memory to know where you 100% haven't been, or run around all over every place with a collectible guide to get it. It's easily fixable, just FADE or CROSS OUT the damn thing on the map when you do it.

I think its by design to prolong your playtime. It's whole design is to prolong your gametime anyway. No fast travels, no crossing off as you say, need to do them in specific orders

Scratch Head Apart from the final rhyme puzzle there's no specific order you have to get them in (of course some are blocked by items you get later in the game, like the boltcutters, but that's pretty normal for RE2-like)

I read amount of fixes and it's about 35. Where did they get number 100 from?

I just finished this. I have very mixed feelings about it.

I love Remedy games (still do), but ...

This was too meta. It was trying too hard to be confusing, but then they still repeated the same things over and over again (probably of fear it would be too hard to follow). I don't mind a complex plot at all, but here it was very self-serving. The movie analogy of this would be Tenet.

I love a good riddle myself, but pacing was broken by it.

But that is not even the worst part: that came at the ending. They just had to go and do twists upon twists upon twists upon twists for the sake of it, and it killed the mood, and it killed the sense of progression throughout the whole game.

The after credit movie went completely against the lore of the character, too.

Less is more. And I think Remedy lost sight of that this time.

Gameplay was OK. Mood was stellar! Acting was great!

7/10.

EDIT: just launched and played a bit of Control and even QB. I have to say, AW2 combat is OK, and I understand it is a survival horror. But man, Control simply had so much better combat, I forgot how much fun it was. and sure, Control story was complex as well, but loads better payoff and figuring things out. Because it was not META.

Meanwhile...

Control 2 was announced by Remedy Entertainment on November 11, 2022. It will be co-developed and co-published by Remedy and 505 Games, with Mikael Kasurinen returning as director for the Control franchise, and will continue to use the Northlight game engine.

Finished this yesterday as well. I enjoyed Saga's sections more mainly due to the small town resident evil/silent hill vibes. Alan's sections weren't bad, had some great ideas with the shadows keeping you on edge not knowing which one is hostile until you "flash" Laughing them.

It's cool to see a game experiment with new ideas even if some don't land so well. The story can be a little too self-indulged and both purposefully confusing and VERY repetitive with the answers. I have heard characters reach the same "conclusion" many times.
The combat is good enough but I wish the characters moved and turned just a little faster with a better FOV than a crippled horse with blinders on. There's many times where I wish I was playing as Control's protagonist.

Overall interesting good game but

By the end I was happy to move on to Robocop

Think this is the "best" game that I didn't fully enjoyed.

At times feels like something is... missing or, au contraire, something is... too much.

All in all, so far: 7.5/10.

Perhaps things will change when I'll finish it. Though I doubt it.
