Though it has become a rather big thing for Hollywood overall that they're supposed to put their "own spin" on things, that's terrible and i hope it will stop.
thats exactly what they done with fargo, s1 is like the movie, what comes after is their own spin, its still good i still enjoy this show but i want more of first season. first season had lots of tension, dark atmosphere, amazing characters and won lots of emmys. the other seasons turned more into comedy. and first season had the movie theme
S1 and S2 definitely the best, S3 still great and still inspired by the movie tone.
S4 was just ok and the biggest departure from the movie, and worse --> no meaningful characters
I hope this S05 trailer used up all the goofy scenes in the entire season.
Yea all three of the first seasons are well worth the watch, despite each season being slightly worse than the last
But that's not surprising given how great the first season is
They completely fucked up Carrie Coon's character and her arc in season 3 tho, completely pointless
that whole search for the true story behind her step father.. those comics.. it was.. kinda cute? but, still, the fuck?
completely pulling her character out of the main story, prolly why the third season was the first to be perceived as a noticeable step down, despite most of it being pretty good
i guess it's how you sell it these days, at least in their depraved minds. still, a good story is a good story, if it is actually good. i think i'll wait this one out.
this ep 8 was really good, jon hamm as a villain is great, was great in the morning show too. but this season had too many boring episodes, reminded me of legion
I'm loving season 5 so far, one more episode left, the shootout finale.
First 3 seasons I enjoyed very much.
The 4-th season was so boring for me that I dropped it third way.
I did like that father and son, the Tillmans, got what they deserved.
I didn't like that we haven't got a proper shootout in the finale like in previous seasons.
I didn't like the senseless death of the black cop Witt Farr.
I didn't like that Lorraine Lyon didn't answer for her bitchiness and was used purely as woman boss, who punished the wicked male antagonist. She was antagonist herself, yet the show stopped treating her that way half way thru the series.
And of course I didn't like rather lame and infantile resolution of Ole Munch, the sin eater, thread.
yeah u are spot on, meh finale and meh season overall, it did had some good moments, like 2-3 really good episodes but thats about it. so much teasing for the finale and a big letdown
I really enjoyed this season. I liked the last episode too, made a change having all the action and main plot resolution done in the first few minutes and then having a longer slower paced coda.
Great characters and acting across the board too. Best one since season 1.
I finished watching this S05 as well and I wish I could say that I had a great time with it, but that would be a lie, a man's sin from the age of the carrier pigeon.
The season got off on the right foot and overall, I found it better/more Fargo-ian than the lousy S04 experiment, however, both its events and the related signature Minnesota nice(tm) situations felt a bit too forced, lacking in nuance and basic logic even for the series' standards. Made with love and joy only on the surface, a false biscuit.
