If its 400 Dollars it surely has hot swapable Switches, even good 100 Dollar Keyboards got that Feature by now. Just replace them.

Otherwise keychron all the way but i guess you will miss the Media Keys, like on most good mechanical Keyboards.

Razer Blackwidow V3, not swappable Sad

Yeah yeah, I know.

$400AUD, dunno what that is in USD, but still pretty expensive. Anyway, I wasn't really happy with it

I've been using a Keychron since I killed the V3, but I didn't realise how much I'd miss those media keys. I still use a Keychron for games, but for work I really need those buttons.

The CORSAIR K70 RGB PRO sounds good, thanks @DV2!

That'd be 265,48$~ USD, so Google says..

Yeah, for me a KB must have the Media Keys, specially if DEDICATED (aka separated from F keys, like the G213, the K70 above, so you don't have to go FN+F## finger tango mania...) and MUST have the STOP key (For example if i'm gaming or whatever and want to restart a SINGLE song i just press stop then play and get back into action in less than 2secs... But that's just me..)

The advantages of the K70 are, based on the net:

-That the space bar is better than the MK.2 (Doesn't gets tilted and stucked on one side)
-In general you can save profiles in the keyboard's memory via iCUE and then get rid of the app
-Speedy keys
-DEDICATED MULTIMEDIA KEYS!, STOP ONE EVEN!
-Customizable single key RGB etc
-Detachable USB Cable Type C

Disadvantages

-LE FILCO PINGING !!!!... Youtube it up....
-Sometimes it smokes weed and malfunctions but barely much. One restart and it works

It's funny because the K70 Speed Silver is 160$ while BROWNS are 170$!!...And worse of all: Same SS are 200€ (Remember, actually 1€ = 1$...) in Spain. PEOPLE SMOKES WEED VERY FUCKING HARD AND I HATE IT

Anyways let us know what did ya got in the end and how it works so far (Also wich switches version ya grabbed)

man those some expensive ugly keyboards. Does someone not just make a white/black full mechanical keyboard without bullshit lights, multicolored or scribble covered keycaps?

All good, I had a K63 previously and it was a great keyboard. Pinging doesn't bother me. I was either going to get the K70 or a Logitech one. Should be fine!

Again, let us know wich version ya get in the end , share some photos and ofcourse experience!! X3

(Wants to get the K70 PRO but thinks there might be a new Logitech KB at the corner just like they did a superb upgrade with the G502 mouse with the G502 X PLUS)

Id recommend the Red Dragon. I had one and loved it. But same reason as above on why I needed a new one, I spilt tea on mine and ruined it.
Its simply sturdy, all keys and switches are hot swappable, all metal shell and case, and cheap. But no multimedia keys so doesn't fit the criteria.

Now I use a waterproof keyboard. Not mechanical but I can get past no mechanical keys for the tradeoff I can take it in the sink or shower and spray it down and dunk it in soapy water without a care in the world, and clean out spills, dust, crumbles, whatever and it looks brand new.
Drop cheese sauce, or crisps crumbs in it and its getting kinda messy under the keys? Unplug it, go to the sink spray it with the sprayer then dump it in some soapy water, shake it out and plug it right back in..lol

I recently bought HexGears X5. Works very good and only 70$.

I'm honestly over buying expensive mechanical keyboards.

I did have original Drop CTRL Mechanical Keyboard with Diablo theme keycaps but I spilled too many drinks over the years and it crapped out eventually. Laughing Laughing

Thank christ you can turn off the RGB shit without their software though, because for the life of me I cannot fathom why something that changes colours and stores profiles weighs in at 1.1GB (3.2GB installed)

would be even better if you could save it on the onboard memory like with logitech, so the rgb is even off while booting or at another pc/console. i wouldn't buy something without onboard memory.
/edit oh it does to seem have onboard memory for lightning? awesome!

Congrats on ya purchase!. I'm still iffy about getting one due to the pinging thingy, but nothing , again, some 2mm foam modding can do ..

I mean... 10:54 (Put ya ear close to the KB of yours then to the vid's one to compare)

Still, for US it'd be easy to find it on Amazon etc, but not for Spain in my case (Except for Aliexpress but...)

Still, back on topic. As they've told you you could configure the RGB , among other things, to your pleasure (probably wich keys are on or off, colours, modes, etc) then once ya have all modes and settings done just uninstall iCue and enjoy the KB

Send photos or even do a 1080p/60FPS vid of the TYPING, light medium and break the shit outta it to see how it sounds like (Ooooptional)

But anyways, enjoy it!

I was about to get the Keychron Q6 (Spanish ISO reds) until i've read that, for music games and competitive stuff, there's some +15-30ms latency that might not be that good for it for multi key pressing.

Compared it with my Logitech G213 and mine is around 5

And the K70 MAX is out yet not in Spanish layout YET the spanish CORSAIR site has it listed but it's the NA one... Excuse me, WTF?...

Been looking for a new keyboard for a while and didn't really know what to get.

I looked up Logitech, Keychron (the good ones are €350!!!!) etc. but didn't feel that "I want this" tug.

Ended up getting a new brand (for me):
Akkogear 5108B Plus-S Black & Gold V3 Lavender

A full size (was important to me), hot-swappable switches & keycaps, 2.4G/Bluetooth 5/USB-C connection, RGB shit that can thankfully be turned off. I'll have to see if it feels and works as good as I hope.

So I derporderd a mechanical keyboard from the US a while ago (month+), and it finally came today. It's mostly a curiosity for me. I wanted a keyboard that looks and sounds like a 90s keyboard, so obviously I went with the most obnoxious switches I could find Laughing Kailh Box White V2 if that means anything to anyone.

I mean ... I love it and I hate it at the same time. The biggest issue I have is it's not split. I have been using split keyboards (mostly chiclets) for 15+ years, and this is not as easy on my wrists. Split mechanical keyboards are very fucking expensive and often ortholinear, which requires to relearn how to use the keyboard, which fuck off, I don't want to. Or dvorak. Or both.

What I feared the most doesn't look like an actual concern. I feared it would be fatiguing on my fingers with all the actuation forces and what not, but doesn't seem like it is. Maybe these switches are somewhat easy.

It's noisy. I should take it to the office some time and maybe they'll remove the 1-2 days a week from the office requests. Laughing

If you've got the coin, then I can highly recommend the ROG Azoth Extreme. It did take me around 2 months to get use to the size of it but that's down to muscle memory. Hell, even my mother is wanting one after having a faff on it.

Ok.

Got a Glorious GMMK2 96 back in spring and besides some extra care one should take with dirt (some keys were not properly working and rgb-dimmed after a month cause I'm a filthy hand-rolling tobacco junkie) the keyboard is excellent. Glorious Fox switches, while noisy, are pretty good. RGB was a plus for me since I tend to work with dim lights and I was getting blind with regular keyboards Cool - first thing I did is to make a custom layout with different colored keys, key-pressing reactions and the like. Now I just have one of these rainbow cycling patterns to relive my childhood man-fantasy everytime I'm using the computer and not getting blind - all in all, just a backlight would be enough IMO.
