The guys of that german Hardware Mag which the picture above is of are saying that to play Oblivion with full details on 1280x1024 you need a 3.8 ghz P4, 1 gig of ram and a geforce 7800 gtx, or something equivalent of course.
perhaps that's the system he's playing on on that pic.

What I wonder is this:
Is Oblivion designed to be played at 30 FPS? The X360 version is locked at 30FPS but the PC version plays at 60FPS. If the game is not designed to work at 30FPS it is going to seem slow. But maybe they only designed the X360 version like that. Meh. I am just wondering if 30FPS would be a smooth frame rate on the PC, if one was to lock it at that rate.

Below 25 can be edited so it doesn't turn red (it's an option) and you can change the place where the FPS are shown too (default:top right). |

Wow that makes me feel a little bit better now. The hardware they talk about isn't even that high class, I know that I will be able to play the game at medium fine. If all you need is what they said to play in FULL DETAIL then like a 6800 should handle medium easily. Remember he said full detail, not many of us even imagined of playing in full detail when we saw the pics, we were just worried about it running smoothly at all, but if thats the kind of system you need to run it full, I think we can all rest easy and believe the mininmum/recommended requirments they suggested

You need these specs at least! That means maybe you can play with a pc like that at high details very good but it says at least. Let's see what a 7900 can do ^^
I hope it works fucking fine.
I mean games like that often work great e.g. in towns but when ya go into a forest the game doesnt work that good.
