Well, Judge Reinhold (Billy Rosewood) had a fuck ton of plastic surgery done to his face when he was in his "middle-aged white guy doing Christmas movies every year" phase, so that explains him at least in part.
John Ashton (Sgt. Taggart) is 76 this year (he was 36 when Beverly Hills Cop was released).
At least my series favorite, Serge, seems to be doing alright!
I don't know, but I don't have high hopes for this one. Netflix is almost assuredly going to fuck it up and destroy my favorite nostalgic go to.

Just finished watching this. Apart from Axel, the rest of the gang is tired and strung out. It would have been a different story had they released this 15 years ago, but alas. It was great to see them, but they're just too old to offer great performances now like they did back in the day, and their screen-time is limited as a result. The new additions (his daughter and her boyfriend) do absolutely nothing for the series or the cast and can be ignored completely.
Apart from Murphy's stellar performance (he was able to channel his character perfectly despite all these years), the frequent usage of Faltermyer's original score and homages to scenes from the original are what really elevate this out of what would have been mediocrity.
In terms of "modern awwwdiences" you've got your usual paid promotion with both UPS and REDFIN being blatantly shoehorned in to two scenes. Apart from that, they visited a Mexican dive bar, but instead of strippers we are treated to fat, ugly, old biker hags rather than some decent tits and ass as was par for the course in the 80s. Zero eye candy to be had throughout.
Overall, I'd rate the series as follows:
1, 2, 4, diiiiiiiistant best not to be acknowledged 3.
