if mine wasn't broken (disc has to be taken out manually every time you want to play a new game) i would've sold it. there's a few titles you can play earlier, and maybe 2 games that i don't have on PC, not really worth it. i more see it as something i can use for TV and be in another room lol
The same technology features that make PS5 the best to play are packed into a smaller form factor, along with an attachable Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive and a 1TB SSD for more internal storage.
The new PS5 has been reduced in volume by more than 30%, and weight by 18% and 24% compared to the previous models. There are four separate cover panels, with the top portion in a glossy look, while the bottom remains in matte. If you purchase the PS5 Digital Edition, you can add the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive for PS5 later, as it will also be sold separately for 79.99 USD | 119.99 EURO | 99.99 GBP | 11,980 JPY.

Love how cyclonefr is always teasing headshot with his absolute console gaming addiction
Then again you need a high end PC WITH an optimalized game to have fun with newer PC games these days. Unless normal settings is good enough!
Pretty smart way to get PC players invested in the PS ecosystem and maybe buy a console. I was really into trophies for about a year back on PS3, and would often buy multiplatform games on PS3 even though I could have played a better version on PC.
Nevermind, seems that there's a target audience for it after all

I mean, criticising this revised PS5 or comparing it to the OG is missing the point because this is not really targeted at existing owners is it? It's there to reduce production costs, improve the supply chain and, yep, make more coin for Sony who never described this as a 'slim' in the first place.
The likely incoming 'Pro' model is a different story....subject to decent specs, I would definitely be interested in THAT.
crazy its been 3 years already, and not a lot to show for it
I don't regret buying my PS5 but except for demons souls remake it's been a PS4 Pro Pro for me
the quiet and fast loading has been really great though, worth it to me for that.
is the "next" generation getting started for real now?
seems the PS4 is finally getting left behind, 1-2 years overdue
Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
next generation is starting now yes, but just like on pcs the ps5 will also struggle, even more.
alan wake 2 for example.
performance mode 847p like on a ps3, yet it can't hold steady 60fps.
quality mode on ps4 level, not even 1440p, 1270p it is and yet it can't hold stable 30fps.
more and more games will be like this, or won't even offer a performance mode. without hdmi 2.1 so you can use vrr, you will be fucked. the ps5 is outdated already, so it was never a next gen console, it was just a ps4 refresh. for me this is fine since i never had a ps4 but for people who had one it must be pretty shit if you caved into the hype and bought one. especially now after 3 years, i see so many happy people on reddit, yet they don't know what will come and don't want to hear it. no man you ware not gonna play gta 6 with RT or in 4k.
if you buy it now, you will not have a great time. get the pro in 2 years until then you will not miss out on anything. can't even imagine how bad gta 6 will run on it.

I agree, but a large chunk of PS5 owners are probably happily oblivious to such issues as you outline, and another chunk (which I probably fall into) spend a lot of time playing AA or indies on it which generally run fine.
Having said that, I'm still buying a Pro day 1 if I can, just because shiny shiny
