Why is Square Enix so incessant on making these exclusive deals just for final fantasy? It's more or less every big final fantasy, other series they release everywhere at once, even if it's a AAA title. Jap heads are not easy to figure out.

FF16 also "only" had a 6 month exclusivity on PS5, but still no PC release in sight.
You are not missing anything with FF16. Story is ok, byt gameplay loop is trash. You know all mechanics by 4h playing the game and then you just repeat the same stuff the next 20 or so hours. At some point even main character make a comment that "things are the same just mobs are getting stronger". There is zero feeling of getting stronger as mobs and skill progressions goes with each other on the same pace.

This. Also the story is ass. It had potential starting out, but then you quickly realize it's basically just the writer seeing GOT and wanting to create his own GOT but lacks the writing skills for it so it's all so shallow and cheesy.
It had potential at the start with all these Dominants or whatever they're called, but then it quickly turns into yet another save the world from the secret villain who wants to destroy the world. Story wise, the game would have been better if the secret villain didn't exist.
I wont get over how they censored it because some blood trails etc was too much for the modern audience, then produced xvi a bit later that wss much worse

It bears mentioning that Tifa was around 15 during the Nibelheim flashback, so it’s unsurprising that Square Enix would extend her outfit in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The younger version of Tifa was only seen briefly in Final Fantasy VII Remake, but she has a much bigger role in the sequel, so more consideration was given to her design.

I wonder if I'll like this more than Remake.
I guess most people consider Remake almost perfect but I didn't like how Remake put a spotlight on Sephiroth from the start, the side quests and character progression was boring to me, and there was too much filler, with the actual story barely moving forward (thats what happens when you take like 8% of the original game and try to make a 40 hour RPG out of it I guess) but then you suddenly already fight sephiroth in a gigantic battle.
then we got the drastically varying quality where some scenes were made with incredible attention to detail, then suddenly the next one is some low budget rushed shit.
also the stuff like unlocking summons from some simulation from an android controlled by hojo was some of the dumbest shit I've ever seen

Then the DLC started leaning more heavily into extended universe shit which I honestly can't stand. the crisis core stuff, dirge of cerberus, angeal, genesis, weiss, shit like that, you know, characters that by existing kinda ruin Sephiroth because they're even stronger, not to mention all the other dumb super convoluted shit in there
I hope to god they're not putting in more of that, but I kinda expect it because how else are they gonna drag it out so much. The "we need 3 games to tell this story" was such bullshit.
