The Gamespot reviewer conveniently forgot to mention that they're locking the New Game + mode behind a paywall (calling it the "Master Vacation Pack") and charging an extra $15 for it (only available in the Deluxe Edition). I'm sure it was an honest mistake...

Not surprising - the studio is pretty consistent in the quality of its releases. Having Played Yakuza 0, followed by both prior Like a Dragon entries on PC, you immediately know what you're in for after the first game. Like, as soon as you boot one up, you know what the formula is going to be in terms of pacing, inventory system, and fighting. That's also kind of the biggest problem though - they rarely deviate from their formula and by hour X it starts to get a bit long in the tooth.
No matter how good it ends up being, however, it still doesn't excuse the scum fuck move of locking NG+ behind a $15 extra pay wall and then trying to hide the fact by not being up front about it. So much for that deeply ingrained Japanese cultural honobiru

I don’t think this one was ever coming to Game Pass but people expected it including myself since a lot of the Yakuza games did. I think it will be on the service one day in the future though
Wasnt this coming to Gamepass as well? Just going to play it that way i guess.
My understanding is it'll be on there way later - not day one. They've gotta milk money from sales, after all.

wait wat?!
Yep. They tried to hide / obscure the fact by giving it the name "Master Vacation Bundle".

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's New Game Plus feature will be locked behind a DLC paywall, upsetting fans.
This decision follows a similar practice in the previous game, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, where the feature was also locked behind paid DLC in Japan.
The Deluxe and Ultimate editions of the game include the DLC pack with New Game Plus, but players will need to pay at least an additional $15 for this important feature.

Day 1 - $158.81 of DLC for a base game with the price of $70.
SEGA is giving EA and Train Simulator devs a run for their money!

I'm so glad I'm ~5 games behind. By the time I get to it, I can hopefully snag it all for ~$40
I did the same with Lost Judgement's Ultimate edition. Grabbed it when it went on sale for like $26. It was absurd to see how much they charged for it at launch.
SEGA is now reaching Ubisoft levels of greed, I think they just outdid them with this game's NG+ being locked behind a paywall.

Nothing new in Japan land. 90% cosmetics and cheat like boost packs
It's not Activision level of greed though. A lot of Japanese AAA games don't make a lot of money.
Like a dragon sold 1,8 mil units. Development cost is unknown but should be at least above 30 million. 3 years ago a full prize sale would have gotten them 70% of 60 euro at best cause of retail costs. So 42 euro's...at best. Cut that in half cause a lot off the sales are sold for a discount.
So perhaps they made 40 million. That's a profit, but for a game that was considered a huge hit, for the genre, it's meh. Sega has to pay for their flops also. So they'll have to squeeze every buck out of their sales.
Still asking 70 euro's for base game excluding DLC that should be included in the base game, i'll pass for the moment.

Well, when they bend their knee to wokemon localization teams then i don't rightly care too much anymore how they do.
One line is not very different though, but it became a coined feminist phrase about stronk wimin needing no men bullshit.
Other line i saw was just a censor. It was about how japan is a weird country with anime porn and panty vending machines, but the localization team wrote something boring instead.
And the cuck japanese say nothing's been censored or changed
