think im going for a palit 4070 ti super jetstream. went fine with palit the last 10 years (the last two upgrades, god my 2070 super is already five years old soon). only thing that fucks me up is that they use three 90mm fans on those models, only the "gaming OC blabla" models use three 100mm fans. but i wont pay 50 bucks more for a modified bios with +30mhz cpu core and slightly higher power limit. can do that on my own)
Here's your order information.
Przepraszam, we're getting your order ready. Thanks for shopping with Best Buy. Went with GIGABYTE - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Gaming OC 16GB GDDR6X PCI Express 4.0 Graphics Card - Black
I mean it is not the worst deal ever. Here the RTX 4080 Super already starts at 1100e for cheapest models... Wish this was available last year, would definitely grab one for around 1200e... but back then the cheapest 4080 were like 1400e
Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Noctua NH D15 Chromax, ASUS TUF RTX 4070TI 12GB, GIGABYTE X670 AORUS ELITE AX, Corsair 2x16GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30, Samsung PRO 990 2TB, Intel 545s 512GB SSD, Seasonic Focus GX 850W Gold, Lian Li Lancool II Mesh Performance Black
Super duper performance worse in some cases
This really is the dumbest GPU era
Dumbest consumer era moment is still watching LTT tbh
It's the same card with very slightly better specs, if it performs worse in any case, the benchmarker fucked up, which in the case of LTT is obviously no surprise
If you need good numbers, always check Techpowerup, not youtubers that live off of clickbait
4080 launched at $1149 and had been slowly creeping sub $900 for a while now, it's clear nvidia just wanted to keep true to their whole "GPUs will never drop in price again" strategy
nope, its the dumbest CUSTOMER era , soon to be decade
When companies make it look like it's actually the customers that are the issue but not their scummy practices nor their never-ending greed, you know their PR has done some of their things just right
R5 5600X - 3070FE - 16GB DDR4 3600 - Asus B550 TUF Gaming Plus - BeQuiet Straight Power 11 750W - Pure Base 500DX
better to skip this gen altogether and wait for new bells and whistles to maaaybe become cheaper and more mainstream.
There is another 4050 version(s?) coming with more single digit differences in performance and more digits in price.
we have FSR3 now so anyone on a 3xxx card has no reason to upgrade until the next console generation other than because.
4080 is $1500 here because we include all customs and taxes in the price. I can buy an i7 4060 entire laptop for that much.
This generation is dumb
wont get cheaper with the next gen... yes the prices are a bit to high, 700 bucks for the 4070 ti super would be ok. but theres nothing you can do about it. everything got way more expensive the last years.
paid about 530 bucks for my 2070 super, back in 2019. thats almost five years now. so roughly 100 euros a year (or less than 10 a month). thats a fair price for a hobby. if i now pay 880 for a 4070 ti super and use it for five years again it will be less than 15 bucks a month. thats ok too
and i can sell my old card for 200+ euros most likely

You're okay with a price increase of almost 100% in 5 years? Imagine anything else with the same price hike.
I guess that "if I use it for five years again etc." makes you feel better about buying overpriced expensive stuff.
@frant: no im not okay with it, but what options do we have? none. i have two horses and two dogs. they do cost much more a month than a new gpu
@madness: most games yes, but never titles even struggle to maintain that 60fps even on reasonable gfx settings. would love to play again with 144hz/fps. so there is no way around upgrading, and a 4070 ti super is massive boost over the good old 2070 super. should be around 130-150% faster in average
a gtx970 can still run games like cyberpunk on med/high in 1080p these days .... this new console generation was a joke and so will be the next one as it will once again be a refurb with just some more gpu/cpu cores allowing nvidia and amd to continue this sharade
launched on September 19th, 2014 A DECADE AGO .... hw gaming industry has become the scam of the century
and then they cut driver support , these CUNTS , ewaste motherfuckers
Well, the perfect time for someone else to step in and make good cards then, if more and more people feel it's a scam..
for games i think it is, i bought my 3090 for 2200 euro, which is the most expensive computer part i've bought and more expensive than entire systems i've bought. it's still immensely useful because i do AI stuff so i wouldn't want to be without it.
Holy shit. This 4080 Super is almost twice the size my 3090 FTW3 Ultra!!!
I thought that card was big!!!
The 4080 Areo I got is by far the biggest card I ever had hands down. I got a Lian Li dynamic evo case, that has a little extra width...and I could BARELY close the side if I got a 90 degree power adapter is so wide. And Its 3 3/4 fucking slots tall.
I had to find a pic of someone holding it, the stand alone pics dont do it justice.

Wanted go get MSI but everything sold out within minutes. Was lucky to get this one.
Also downgraded Power Supply from 1300W to 850W. They increased electricity by almost 10% here last year and having 3090 with 1300W was just not sustainable anymore.
a gtx970 can still run games like cyberpunk on med/high in 1080p these days
* With irregular frame pacing, occasional stuttering due to the very low VRAM available and frequent framerate drops no matter the settings used
** The above applies to all graphically demanding games released in the past ~five years
I loved that card and had it until September, but let's be honest, playing modern games with it was like driving a Fiat Uno First Gen on the Autobahn
because of vram issues and also drivers there should be a law that an open source community gets acces to adding support for older cards, hardware stays good for decades these days and this planned obselence is criminal, if i cant buy a plastic bag, sure as fuck these cunt companies cant make me trow away my fully working card cause they refuse to share some tiny code
and its not 10% performance for some driver tweaks ... ive seen it on d2r , my win7 amd driver that didnt have support and i had barely 30 fps, my win10 with a d2r driver support got 75+ fps ... , exact same hardware (HD swap , amd 570rx 4 gig)
