yeah, you'd hope those people only exists in your imagination. though perhaps it's just the showrunner doing those comments, i wouldn't exactly put it past people like that, after all, it's people who sit on twitter all day making comments, getting into arguments etc.
episode ratings are going down (IMDB), doesn't look good. Probably a skip for me.

because of the superbowl. the season did not improved much from the first ep. john hawkes felt wasted in this, deserved more screen time vs too much screen time on indian kid drama nobody cares. felt like not much happened whole season so they will dump all info on last ep

The first half was rational and pretty much what I expected. I started skipping through the second half.
Overall it was watchable but not great. I liked the setting and thought Jodie Foster's character was pretty well developed and she did a great job in the role, can't say the same for the supporting cast though. Navarro was unlikable and I didn't find the kid with daddy issues all that interesting.
I would give it a 7/10 there were several reasonably well written characters and tell several intertwining story arcs, nothing was left unexplained. True Detective writing so far has generally focused more on the characters stories than the case. Unfortunately I just don't think the characters we got here where all that interesting. It's probably better than season 2 because they completely fumbled the second half of that season but no where near as good as 1 or 3.

|
definitely the weakest season of the bunch. It did have a very intriguing premise but wasted it.
The "link" with S1 was fruitless and more like bait & switch as the spiral thing is completely unrelated.
I mostly watched it while checking my phone or pausing and doing other stuff around the house, that's how captivating it was.
