The saddest part are going to be the nintendo sack huggers going "see, see how quick they folded? They knew they where helping piracy!!1!!1!1" 
But the emulator dudes not wanting to get their life rekt is understandable. I just hope development will still somehow continue (oops a wild source code appeared  ) and nintendo will lose even more money with this shit.

Dunno for me something fishy is going on.
Why would nintendo bust yuzu when the switch 2 is right around the corner (next year) unless the rumours are true and the next switch will be totally backwards compatible cartridge and digitialy which might imply that its the same hw but just more powerful so yuzu would already be a working emulator for that. Else it doesnt make any sense why theyd sue for a console that is at it's end of life cycle with all major hits already released.
Why did yuzu act confrontational and then cave in immediately. There are prolly more dealings involved and the fine of 2.4 mill is just for show(and scare others like ryujinx) and not really claimed if they were to agree to the terms immediately instead of putting up a fight.
Imo this doesnt bode well for ryujinx either. Download the latest version before its too late.

It's so stupid and sad, Nintendo might won the court settlement but will lose even more, Shutting down Yuzu won't stop piracy, it's too little to late at this point it will piss even more people off, and the project is already open source and exists on other people drives.

They had a LLC as the legal entity behind the project as far i my limited understanding of the US law goes this means worst case scenario the company goes bankrupt and it's assets go to pay the debts (which was probably not all that much) but no one will have to face consequences personally if there is not enough money Nintendo will just get what's there and that's it.
So as a bankrupt LLC isn't liable for damages exceeding the money they've got anyway and they where not personally liable they didn't really have much to loose by settling now but things could have gone very different if they actually had to go to court and the LLC owners could have been effected personally so this was by far the smartest choice they could make.
