Why do they keep using the original 1979 trailer sound effect scream? Is there anyone left who would recognize it and not see through the cynical use of it to evoke a silly feeling? Trying to figure out who keeps using it and why.
Looks like I've seen it before. It's as stale as Terminator franchise.

really like the teaser trailer. loved all the previous movies so i'm pretty certain i'll love this one too
and yes, my favorite movie genre and there's like 1 movie every 5th year for it so yeah, i'll pretty much like anything (maybe apart from super low effort ones).
Was he brutal in his opinions on Prometheus and Covenant?
Prometheus has a semblance of a good movie. Covenant was a disaster on a level where I think Scott was taking the piss. I expect this movie to be a copy paste of Alien, probably bad but could pull it off like the latest predator.
To be honest, the teaser looked pretty good to me. It doesn't mean anything but I did get some slight Isolation vibes. The scene with dozens of facehuggers was bit "ugh" though. We'll see. If it's better than Covenant (and it must be difficult to NOT be better than that pos disappointment) it'll be watchable. I'm one of the few that really enjoyed Prometheus although it could've been a lot better.

why not? alien/aliens has always leaned heavy into vulnerability, kind of what it is about. makes perfect sense.
he goes into details saying that the inspiration of it came from Aliens Special Edition, where you see a scene of very young people running in a corridor. he thought it was interesting to portray how it would be for a young person being there.
The movie can still be total shit, who knows, but i'm not gonna be negative unless there's a good reason for it, and that isn't it..
