I thought you were aware of this meme since it's not really a spoiler, this huge shiny knight which you can't miss after starting out is basically there for you to avoid and return to later, armed to the teeth.. he is objectively a little bit too strong for a starting char, he was a very tough SOB for your level ..but you can choose to fight and eventually defeat him just as well, like you did !

Yeah, that boss was a nightmare for my first wahmen Dex character, but a walk in the park for my 2nd "grug smash!" Str chad. The pickaxe is a surprisingly underrated weapon, charged r2's are devastating but add the lion claw art on top of that and it's a stance breaking machine (yes, even the general got pickaxe broken)

There are 1000's of games that cater to what you're asking for. Why whine about this series of games that is celebrated for doing something different?
I didn't complete Elden ring, I got tired of the open world at 60-70% the way through as is almost always the case for me an open world. I'd hardly say that makes it a bad game though. Definately one of the best games released in that year.
see, that's what opinions are for. i contest yours. no it isn't. the game is crap. why? sigh. so many reasons... I have no energy to type them all so let's keep it brief.
-evil game that hates the player (one could argue that it's just the setting but I beg to differ)
-horrible design (enemies just respawn constantly so no sense of progress)
-no navigation (no compass, no proper map, you are instantly lost)
-bleak nihilistic gameplay without a shred of a soul. typical atheist whine
-god is bad story, the typical japanese bs they are feeding us
-a lot more reasons but i'M tired now, go play it but accept that some people hate it, me included
