Man why is this game so damn bad? I enjoyed my crazy playthroughs of 3 and NW (i thought NW was overated but still jolly good fun) but 4 is losing me. It's just a sterile experience so far. Pick up melons, turn some valves, escort a bunch for 20 minutes to sanctuary to start building fucking furniture. At no point have i found anything interesting when exploring. Just bandits/ghouls and magazines. And my next main objective is across the whole map.
What the fuck is this shit?

LA is pretty old, this one fixes more and does a similar thing. It was also updated today:

I play at 120 fps with that mod. I used Special K for 3 and NW and that was because without it the game would crash when i alt tabbed. Here i haven't needed it.

So far - eh! - managed to get some good ole' mods I used ages ago, that don't need MO2 or F4SE...
But it's still VERY annoying how, once I start the game without Special K, everything starts to crawl towards very low framerate.
WTF, man!

Yeah doesn't make sense with that resolution and your CPU + GFX card combo which is a step above mine (Ryzen 3700X + 3060 Ti).

60FPS seems low for that hardware
I've never used Special K with the game and I typically get ~100FPS with a 3080 (~120 with a 4080). What mods are you using? Got ENB in there or something?

Because it sucks. Unless you enjoy turning it into a survival simulator, there's not much meat on its bones. Quests suck, characters suck, followers suck, dialogue sucks (and so on). Starfield is like FO4 in many regards, but without an interesting world to explore, so it sort of highlighted what Bethesda are really average at doing.

It did get a tiny bit better when i reached diamond city, but these auto engage conversations are driving me mad. And when tou deliver quest to sitting people it doesnt always work until he/she stands up...
I do take issue with the perk system. There are such big gaps between skills it feels like you'll shoot yourself in the foot if you don't go for it. Like gun upgrade is 20% damage pr level, But then you might not br able to craft any gun or armor upgrades and run around in shit gear that gets you massacred before you see the enemy.. Naturally this will mellow out on later levels and like fallout 3 and nw you spend time figuring out what shit perk is least shit tobput points in.

Mods used:
• Even Louder Footsteps Sound
• Realistic Movement Speed
• Button Lowered Weapons
• VividFallout - All in One
No ENB!
I am also just capping framerate at 60 (as with most games).
But the issue is that the game goes WAY BELOW that 60 FPS point, in many instances, with or without MSI Afterburner, ipresentinterval = below9000 etc. By some magnificent miracle!!11, once I run the game via Special K, everything is butter-smooth...

If you play it for the story, dialogue or characters, you will probably be disappointed.
I chose to enjoy it for the world: worldbuilding, discovery, exploration, then a bit of character progression, some cool immersion factors and ultimately for reaching Far Harbor (a very well recieved piece of DLC). |

Nuke your ini's, let the game regenerate them and see how the game runs then.
After that I'd give bethini a try:

Fallout 4 is the most boring of the three "new" FO games. I've played it twice but I don't remember the storyline.
Currently installing New Vegas with X amount of mods.

I never got the game on this install of Win (10), so those ini's are 'fresh'. Even without tweaks or mods the game ran on default inis like ass from the start.
But I'll take a look at that Bethini, though. |

I just cannot. Every single point i explore is a hour long dungeon of savescumming and fucking breakdancing enemies. Exploration has not yielded anything of real interest yet, and then you say the story is terrible also. Maybe the dlc's is the content that elevates this game above crap

I disabled all E-cores in BIOS and game runs fine now, without Special K. No more drops, stuttering or other shenanigans. I had even worse problems (1/2 FPS and E-cores active only) in Starfield also...
Probably should upgrade to Windows 11. |

Wow. Makes sense since the 13x CPU's didn't exist back in 2015, right? Hopefully bethesda will release some sort of update to the game to add some new requested features and solve problems like that...
