It wouldn't even vex me as much if his reviews were any good, but they are not. Either he constantly moans on about specifics that are only relevant to him "The graphics the graphics the graphics" or he gets the whole game wrong and bashes it for something his casual normie mind simply doesn't comprehend (his prodeus review, eg. where he bashes this great game for no reason). no, the guy has no taste AND his reviews are mostly shite, so I wouldn't give a flying fuck what he says. but you are all easily swayed, make up your own decisions in life or others will make them for you. I decide for myself what to play and no shitty review guy will change that thank you very much.

I do not like him at all for game reviews. The last year or two, hes not reviewing if a game is actually a good game for what type of game it is. He is reviewing if he personally likes the mechanics used, and if its a genre he like to personally play.
Since hes not reviewing the game, hes reviewing if its his type of game.
And me and his tastes are opposite (or mostly, The mechanics I like he hates..so if he shits all over a game I know its because its got what I like), And he is at least consistent in not reviewing the actual game, but reviewing if he personally enjoys that type of game.
Why I feel he needs to change the channel name from:
Worth a Buy?
to
Would I Buy?
Because that all he is really doing the last few years. Telling us if its a genre or has mechanics he personally likes, regardless if they are objectively good or not.

Guess what? That is what every review is, he's just not bullshiting about it. I know what he likes and what he doesn't and can make an informed choice on if I'll like the game based on what he says about it. At least I know he's honest, even if he might be wrong. Unlike the majority of other yt "reviewers" these days.
I know if I want to play or like something without any youtuber (including this guy) telling me their thoughts. I haven't cared about reviews since they were in Magazine format. Although knowing if it runs like shit on 4090, is always online, predatory MTX etc, Derp designed arrows/x-ray vision/no key-rebinds etc. are useful.
I'm the same, just if someone posts it, why not..lets watch it. And if he bitches about the mechanics, I know its probably the type I like.
I think you are confusing (on purpose or accident) the rant of how bad he is at reviewing games, with needing someone to review games for me.
As for the rest, I dont need a 30 minute video to tell me if its online, or keybindings are locked. I can google that in 30 seconds if curious, not need 30 minutes to see if he mentions it.
And if it runs like shit? I'm not borrowing his PC, so his personal experince of it means nothing. Is it the game? or his setup? Who knows. Id rather an aggregate of benchmarks than one dudes experince as proof of how it runs. (As games that ran like SHIT for him, has ran fine for me on less hardware before)
Again dont need a 30 minute rant about how he dislikes crafting, or base building to try to catch if he says how it runs on his specific setup.

I dont see it as much as asshole, as fabricated Angst. The tone and words of a teenage reviewer, with the authoritative voice timbre of a grown man. Its what his audience has gravitated to, so he does what keeps the ad revenue come in.
He used to not be so snarky, or angsty. And talk like he was discussing the game, like he was talking to you about the game. Now its just talking at you about the game. Over the years evolved into this weird mash of angsty teen bitching about a game, mixed with his old way of speaking.

pretty accurately observed. it's all a cult of personality it seems. a good reviewer should look at all sides of the coin and then decide what's what. but his constant bashing of good games got on my nerves fast so I stopped listening. Some find the guy funny but to me he just comes of as an asshole.
