OH yea. But more fun for me, even if I dont place 1st. Plus using a 900 degree wheel makes it a lot of frantic spinning of the wheel at times..
I can usually get 1st against "Above Average" AI. But it's a bit boring, once you pass them all on some tracks you can get so far ahead you cant even see them on the minimap.
Mostly 1st or 2nd against highly skilled.
More often than not top 5 on expert unless I fuck up a corner, as I never get a HUGE lead so any mistake they are right behind me to zip past.
Anything higher is random, I MIGHT get 1st (usually not), or last, or who knows depending on luck.

"Highly Skilled" is a bit more difficult to beat than it was in FH4. They've improved their opponent AI since FH4.

I've played games on kb+m since Quake. I got used to using the keyboard for driving games and after a while you've adapted to keyboard control, tapping the keys and micro-pressing them depending on how much throttle/brake/steering you need. After all, nearly all races are won by taking corners in the most efficient way.
The only issue I have with FH5 when using a keyboard is that nearly all cars spin the tyres a LOT longer when starting from standstill compared to previous Horizon and other games. Doesn't matter if you tune a car with the most optimized grip possible. The easiest fix is to instantly shift to second gear which only burn the tires for a miniscule amount of time (some cars even need to be shifted in to third gear, esp. if they're S2).
The only assist I use in racing is ABS, otherwise it's 100x more difficult to take corners at fast speed since you'll understeer like crazy in even mild corners. I don't really care what assists other people use, it's all about having fun after all...
So.. they need to fix all the issues and sort out elements that are lacking since there's a really fun Horizon game under the surface. While I still wish it took place somewhere else (why Mexico of all places?) I'm content as long as they sort out the game.
The last patches fix coney issues we was having, we could always see each other in races which was most important but couldn't in free roam now it works every time.

I play it in short bursts... ~2 online playground comps, an eliminator or two, some weeklys.. but I can't play for more than ~30 minutes since I get bored. It's just too much like FH4 which many of us played to death... And Mexico isn't the most interesting place to drive around in. They should've gone with Japan or something.

Stopped playing Forza Horizon 5. I didn't play it even close to the amount of time I spent in Forza Horizon 4. I let the 2 x 1$ Game Pass sub pass without renewing. I may reinstall Forza Horizon 4 instead, hoping that there are still plenty of players there. I "own" the Complete Edition of that so I don't need game pass to play it.
I may actually pay the £7.99 (or look for a cheaper 1-3 month game pass card at a cdkey site) to play Guardians of the Galaxy.

FH5 handling and car physics is in many ways a lot worse than FH4.
since only grinding stuff is atm left for me in fh5 i went back to fh4. oh boy, its way superior in almost every way (havent played it in the last 2,5 years i think), even looks in most of the cases better

I would appreciate much better physics rather than pretty cliffs and 'stunning' sound effects.
Regardless, it looks quite fun so I might grab Ultimate-whatever Edition sometimes during the upcoming sales.
