It's garbage by itself, that's why I add extra ingredients. So while you're eating shit, you're still getting protein etc. I thought everyone did this, I guess not?
I dont, because me eating it is because Its 3am and I am hungry and can't be assed to make food. if I was to cook chicken, and dice it up and all that, at that point Id just make real food
Sometimes boiling the water and stirring it middle of the night is almost my limit of effort I want to put in to stuff my face with something because 'I got munchies'.
I am a SUPER lazy eater if its middle of the night: Ramen, leftovers (not even heated because that takes effort and means putting it on a plate and all that shit), hot dogs, pizza rolls. etc.
Either it must take under 3 minutes in the microwave AND come with its own bowl it's in to start with if it needs one, or be edible as is.
We eat proper dinners and cook all the time. But between 1am and 5am? I eat like a drunk college guy after a bender.

As a stereotypical italian I cannot stomach ramen and most foreign comfort foods, which is unfortunate because they are very handy indeed and would trim some of the hours spent on the weekly cooking sessions :')
It helps that I strictly have three meals per day and 100% stick to that schedule in order to keep my body in reasonably good shape. Still a far cry from ~10 years ago.. but that's ageing for you as well as becoming a semi-sedentary arse

Milk? In Ramen?
Maybe it's my palette, but that sounds horrible Like eating cereal using orange juice.
Two flavors that dont play well together, to me anyway. It would take away the savory/umami bite it has, and loose its salty sharpness.
But then again as an american, milk in tea is horrible. I love tea (about all a drink all day) but add milk it takes away the slight acidic sharpness tea has I like.

Took a solid 5 forkful. This is just punishing. Except for a challenge, there's nothing left to taste.
One thing's sure: I ate enough to loathe even the thought of intestinal transit. Won't be able to sit for a week

I tried some of these easier ones over last few weeks. As ramen is my 'I don't feel like any effort to make food' middle of the night snack.
They was delicious.

My fav Ramen is the one I make myself; miso soup "ramen".
Dashi (Japanese soup stock made from bonito flakes)
Red Miso (paste, add towards the end)
Chopped green onion
Soy sauce
Japanese Udon noodles
A sprinkle of sesame seeds
It's definitely not something you make in the middle of the night since it takes time and some preparation.
Can replace the noodles with tofu if you wish.
It's absolutely delicious and mega-umami.
