Just remember, nfo-humpers: our brains have been 'streamlined', 'casualised', 'simplified', after years and years of playing all these... 'follow-mindlessly-the-arrow', 'i'll-solve-it-in-your-place', 'push-a-button-to-solve-and-win' games...
If you REALLY pay attention AND(!) switch your brain into solving mode while playing, you MIGHT* see all or most of the 'solutions' to advance.
*hey, it's a souls game, of course some things will not be explained / showed!

Doing random gestures to open up secret doors or illusory walls aint fun. The retarded messages by some players who put "hidden path ahead" around every corner isnt helping either.
Its not really about paying attention in this game. What you know is based on a lot of peoples random actions. Some doors for example is easy to see, others nigh on impossible.
It's absolutely often about paying attention, but also about running into stuff by accident. This makes if feel like you accomplished something, unlike in ubi or bethesda games, everything is given for free when exploring. Exploring isn't as much of a game mechanic there.
It's not like you HAVE to see every place either. It doesn't break the game or make it less fun. If its really well hidden it's done like that for a reason, it's just side content and it already has tons of it, if you happen to miss out on a dungeon it's not the end of the world.
I play offline btw. I have no interest in reading troll messages etc. i played one of the Souls games online and it was just distracting to have messages everywhere.
Well, I like that FROM is giving the finger to such gameplay, basically. You can probably do it, but the game isn't made for that type of gameplay in mind, just like the combat system and no "save anywhere" is also kind of a finger to the norm.
If FROM was music they would be punk, they dare to challenge the norms, it's why they're great.
I ended up luckily NOT going to NG+ on my last character (just finished base game) so i decided to pick up the DLC. Have beaten a few of the bosses and my god they've really gone full anime fucktard with these bosses.
Remember when they were more interested in making thematically interesting bosses instead of just having bullshit for the sake of bullshit? I'm trying not to summon mimics, so i was expecting it but jeez.
Despite my complaints of how their design philosphy has changed it's still better than the shovelware we get from other companies.
According to a recent FromSoftware tweet, these issues may partially be remedied by closing any third-party computer mouse software prior to launching the game. “In the PC version, the frame-rate may not be stable when playing the game while running a mouse-control related app,” read the tweet, as translated via Google Translate. “In that case, please try playing the game after stopping the mouse-control related app.”
FromSoftware’s notice does not give specific examples, leaving users to wonder if even first-party software like G Hub and Razer could be potentially problematic. Users have previously confirmed third-party mouse gesture software leading to frame rate issues.
They're so PC retarded it's not even funny

...they come with any mouse, i have "Roccat Swarm" for mine, gonna turn it off now.. edit: and also some logitech shit i noticed (for another controller i have).
not sure why they would need to give "specific examples" it's very clear what an app that has controls for your mouse is.
the game sometimes (maybe once every 2h) completely freezes up for 1.5 second for me. that's the only issue i've had (still in the main game).
Finally got the Mimic Tear It's nice that you can add grease(s) to the Equipment slots and he will use it accordingly, and you don't lose any. I also added some other stuff and he uses that too, like some gravitation magic (i'm a dumb Barbarian so i have no idea about the magic in the game).
I lack any kind of finesse while playing, don't memorize shit, i just hug the legs, slash. Works great
I wish the game had far more armors. Feels like there's like 5 decent to chose from, none really fits my barbarian. All while weapons are almost unlimited.
Sure would. But you know they're gonna focus on tiny nuggets of realism so it wont happen. Such a sad thing as many cool armors stay untouched due to shit stats
we can hope someone smart adds it as a mod perhaps.
though just switching out armors / stats via modding should be very easy to do and there are such mods. 19 pages on nexus.. though 17 of those are obviously just some naked chick with huge boobs.
Bloodstains are often interesting to observe. Seeing how other people interact with the game (read: die in the game) is amusing.
Also, armor: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Armor / IMO there's plenty to choose from AND mix and match around. Dropping 2 poise points for the sake of a cooler looking helm is not gonna break your game...
Interesting thing when i played dark souls 1 just recently. LOADS of messages against walls saying it's a hidden wall there... But when i came to an actual illusionary wall it generally had zero messages in front of it.
I've seen countless solitary 'liar ahead' messaged that DELETED or made HIDDEN other players' bs/trolling messages. That is... virtually / indirectly (because you can't influence a message via other message).
But you can 'rate' a message with good or bad, and that will decide how those messages appear in the world.

ah right, you can rate them, i think i remember that from some FROM game i played online. reading messages all the time would be fucking annoying, there's enough to do already. i also do think it looks ugly graphically.
meh, just give us fucking Bloodborne on PC. Though this mod could eventually be quite cool too i guess.

It's my understanding that even poorly rated messages will stick around. And the player gets healed for those as well. So i would think ppl downvoting the "hidden passage ahead" messages are only making them last longer.
lets be real here guys. if you play online among the hundreds of messages do you really stop to rate any of them? I dont because it stops the game's flow

I will upvote the actual good ones, which are rare. Or the funny ones at least.
I've had ones that steered me to stuff i would have never found otherwise. It's much more fun than fuckin alt tabbing every 30s and checking wiki to see if you missed anything.
I don't read most of them, but when you come around a corner and see a bunch of messages, and maybe blood stains, you already know to be on your guard.

Very VERY useful ones, sure. But that was like... 5 or 6? Left one in Raya Lucaria academy for a hidden wall that also received some updoots, but I dunno if that leads to anything in the game for my character at all.
