haha, you're right, they probably do work like that, i never really thought much of it.

I really wish there were more heavy armors in the game. I've had Lionel's armor now for 100+ levels. googling when to expect to get a better one, no, it says its the best for Heavy. it's super ugly. maybe there's something in the DLC.

Armor after armor drops from Legendary bosses and smaller bosses, but everything is total garbage. The best armor (heavy) just lays on a bed. lol. not great design imo. would be good to get a great weapon or great armor from a boss you've struggled with, but there's very little, if anything like that.

Just wear what looks good, instead of worrying about their stats. Very Happy

E: Also, boss weapons and armor you buy from the old finger hag in roundtable hold, not sure if you knew this already or not.

yeah, never found anything remotely useful there.

stats matters, if you want to beat bosses and hard enemies. but sure, you can probably wear whatever and then switch every time you meet something hard.

Wear what looks good, as fashion CAN be a thing in ER!

As long as you have at least 51 poise. Very Happy

Or(!)...

... just git-gud-with-blue-balls, just like those players that do no-hit challenges with underpants only characters.

Nah, i'm past the age where i will spend time getting good at the game blind folded and whatnot Very Happy

Another small thing i would've loved to see, a better Lantern (or whatever item for light) to light up caves etc much better. Just don't make it available until late game. This would've been a perfect item for the DLC, but i bet it's not in. Would've been so satisfying to get.

A better 'lantern' is the torch! You can use it (raise it) to illuminate much further away.

C'mon man, must I teach you everything... ?!

Cool Face

it's larger radius than the lantern and even larger if you raise it
and it stays equipped too after dying, imagine that

but of course it comes with the cost of using a hand
I still use it way more often than the lantern.
always got a torch on me because it looks fucking cool to walk around with the torch.

and btw stats matter, but skill and experience matters way more.
5% less damage is usually not gonna save you from anything when you still get 2 or 3hit either way (at least 97% of the times you die)

5% less damage is nothing. yes skill matters a lot, fast reflexes. i don't have it, i'll still easily manage to beat the game though since yes, stats matters, and they matter more the more you suck Wink

Would love to get my hand on this game, but its still too expensive for me to spend cash on. I mean, its probably a great game - im just worried it will end up with my incredible huge backlog like so many other games Razz

shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

I'd be careful with greenluma and EAC

I literally still have a game ban on me for doing exactly that, despite stealth mode

Ofc he has since improved the stealthiness, but still, be aware

Stealth might be improved, but so can their detection system.

beat Messmer again, this time solo(sorry Hornsent.) Suprisingly it only took 13 attempts and my heart was pounding so hard it was about to explode. Laughing

It was so satisfying, he only hit me 4 times in total, and it was from attacks I hadn't seen before.

Now the real asshole of the DLC awaits me. Not looking forward to it. Laughing

yeah, for heart health / blood pressure i bet this game is pretty bad. I've never felt so stressed out playing a game ever.

I imagine myself at age of 12-14 playing this game. The computer, the controller, my room, it would be in pieces Laughing

I don't have patience for 3 attempts...

But 13?!

Found the expansion surprisingly easy except for the last boss, which you can take down with lots of arcane and bleed spear

beat the final boss. It took 48 attempts and it was down to zero flasks and half HP bar.

I'd say the first phase is alright, but the second one is bullshit. Every attack is a lightshow that obscures your view and tanks FPS.

If they tone down the light show it'll be alright.

Yeah, now that I have crossed the half century mark, the thought occurred to me as I was playing the other night, that maybe I should make an appt with a cardiologist. As for my 12-14 y/o self, he definitely wouldn't have been playing this. I was raised on a steady diet of Sierra On-Line, Infocom, and Bard's Tale type stuff.

absolutely this. this is a game i couldnt have played in my teen years. i'm so much calmer in my 50's.

can't remember the last time i really raged quit a game, its more like i get a feeling of being bored so i take a break and do something else.

i do get really stressed out though, but that's just in boss fights because i have to think more quickly etc.

if you#re like me and fed up with the tedious buffing routines (seppuku, flame grant me strength, golden vow, flask , et al)

install AHK
create a script that presses the respective keys in order
bind the script to a kb shortcut

install joytokey
bind the aforementioned kb shortcut to a button combo on your gamepad

works like a charm Smile
