Just finished this with all the gigs, probably all the side missions including the Add-On. (That has the arguably better story-line.)

Overall it was great. I liked the characters, character developement, the storylines, atmosphere, some unforgettable moments, some exceptional attention to detail sometimes and overall stunning visuals. The gigs were a bit repetitive and the game not really makes use of its openworld like RDR2 or GTA do. You're basically hopping from questmarker to questmarker to do the quests. There is some discovery to be had, but I'd say its limited. Also don't look too close at the citizens. Just too depressing. Laughing The game has come a long way though.

I'd give it a 7.8/10 It looses most of its points due to the disappointing exploration and generic citizen fillers.

Performance wise it runs ok. 6900XT, OC+10%, Intel XeSS 1.2 (Now with 1.3 its really great using Balanced), LukeFZ mod for Frame generation. 3440x1440, all settings maxed, Raytracing on Ultra. Getting roughly 90FPS.

I'm also using some mods.

- Cyber Engine Tweaks
- Cyberpunk Ultra Plus RT and RT-PT (This gives the normal RT some PT effects, subtle)
- Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked project ultra quality
- Crouch vignette effect remover
- Preem Rain
- Preem Ads (Because, I have a family)
- Quieter TV Ads (Because they suck)
- Nova LUT Pure 2.2 (Absolutely recommended for a bit less saturation and more realistic colors)

I'm already considering replaying this, but probably doing some things very differently or making different choices. Maybe in a year or two.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

"Spider And The Spy" ...

The WORST fking mission in videogame history, right at the start of the DLC. Facepalm

• enemies with eyes on their back
• enemies that see you through walls
• cheating enemies that slowly move in your direction even if you stealth
• patrols spawning in your faec
• no ability to save
• if you fail, you need to restart an entire area
• thankyouverymuchaltf4

No wonder only 16,5%(!!!) of players completed one of the first mission in the DLC (rescue the lady)...

That's impressive. Now show actual gameplay playing a mission without the NPC crowds and 90% of the traffic density disabled. What's that? They can't do that because their rig would literally stutter to a single FPS before catching fire? Yea...thought so. Laughing

Just playing this for the third time. All jokes aside 2.0 is a pretty good RPG at this point. Story and atmosphere was always good.

This is a good game.

They released this game 2 years to early, people just couldn't run the game with their hardware at the time. This and unrealistic expectations. And they should not have released this for last gen console.

Sure the release was a bit to buggy but it was patched fast and a it was solid experience after the first couple of weeks. People have been bashing this game for years though.

Although I understand the appeal of these changes with colours and exposition so altered they almost look like the player is wearing Keanu's StarfieldLUT-based glasses, I prefer how lively the path-traced game looks with just some CShade sharpening and minor desaturation. The vanilla overdrive lighting is often exaggerated (for oomph-y reasons Razz), but it suits the art direction well.

Keeping that in mind is Phantom Liberty worth it for me?

That's what I don't get - the world felt pretty alive in The Witcher 3 - not sure why this one feels so dead by comparison when there's so much more that COULD be happening!

Well, TW3 is taking place mostly in the wilderness. So there's not THAT much happening there, therefore there's no feeling of 'something missing'.

But the "?" markers were more interesting in TW3 than the NCPD markers in CP. You don't know what to expect at the "?" marker, but at the NCPD you there's THE SAME 2 mins shooting / 5 mins stealthing around...

Also, in CP THERE IS NOTHING UNEXPECTED happening, man... No police chase (not for me at least), no ambulance with sirens, no taxi, no murders, no thiefing, no chasing, no random encounters (damn you RDR2!)...

There's... nothing dynamic that makes the world alive...

Yea, I'd say PL is better in many ways than the main game.

If base game for you was a 7, then PL will be an 8/9.

I just finished PL for the first time right now, and I loved it. PL is top notch quality.

Just finished the OTHER ending (there are two main branches, not hidden, choice time is obvious, you can't miss it).

Wow. That one as even fucking better.

So if you want the full picture, get both branches of the ending.

For me, Phantom Liberty is a 10. (the base game when it launched it as a 7, now it is an 8.5)

Characters, themes (writing) and atmosphere - cyberpunk is absolutely top notch in these topics.

Gameplay used to be very mid, now it is pretty decent.

The world is not a "living" world, that is true. But as a setting it is stellar.

After seeing games like Starfield, Star Wars Outlaws and other... AAA(A) 'products'... CP 2077 now feels like some masterpiece.

In comparison, it probably is.

CP 2077 is a masterpiece. The only real problems with it are the horrible launch state and the open world, which is shit and shouldn't have even been a thing to begin with. Outside of old Rockstar, nobody can do open world well, and even then, I would rather not have the open worlds.

I still think that Witcher 3 did some open world things better than this:

• more complex crafting
• respawns for resources / enemies (thus world feels bit more alive)
• more incentives to explore
• world feels more... alive / organic / surprising / diverse / complex

I know in CP is just a city, but they could have made it better for exploration / discovery.

Well, I may be biased on this because I think open world games are just the worst thing you can do to a game. It just dilutes the product and offers little in return, except for some minor immersion that can be achieved in different ways.

I think CP 2023 would have been a better game if it weren't open world and I think Witcher 3 would have been better as well.

I don't care about the random encounters and events because they are artificial and inconsequential time-wasters, and they have to be that way, because there is no way to fill a large map with actual immersive and engaging events, or you'd never finish the damn thing. So then what is the point of an open world. Just to say you have a big game with many things to do, even though it's all worthless, watered-down and repetitive garbage. But hey, people are kept busy and it makes the game longer. As if wasting my time is a bonus somehow.
