Got to watch this last night. I thought it was overall an OK horror film, but it certainly didn't meet my high expectations. The lack of involvement from JK feels evident, and whilst it was an entertaining ride, it didn't live up to the previous movies. I'd have liked them to have focused a little more on the actual implications / process surrounding an alien invasion, and they preferred to focus on the story told from the woman (who didn't even look at the news etc - so we got very little by way of understanding as to how the gov/earth responded. The film also suggested the events were limited to Manhatten but I presume that's a red herring.
I couldn't really understand if the monsters eat the bodies or not - every now and then they'd have a dead body in background, but most of the time there was no bodies (which also felt a little, unrealistic).
