I was just at the cinema. After the trailers, just a black screen for 5 minutes.
Then they turned on the lights. Another 5 minutes passes, "technical difficulties..."
10 minutes passes; "it might take us 20 minutes."
20 minutes passes. "no, we can't show it, you'll have to return on Wednesday."
Some people in the audience couldn't go that day so someone asked if he could get his money back. "No, you can't". "Ok" (yes that's typically how a Swede reacts.) 100% Swedes in the audience btw, so no chaos, no swearing, no anger... Actually, when i think of it, i did hear someone murmur "va faen också.." (="damn"...)
some month ago we and a couple of others said there for like 15 minutes when one of us went out and asked the people running the place "when is the movie gonna start?" ....
...they had forgotten to start it lol
they can't give the money back mate, but when i complained after watching a movie like 4-5 years ago that people had been ruining it with cellphones and stuff - they gave me 10 free tickets
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Leftist europeeons in a nutshell. Cinema prices here are so high, if someone even allows this thought of not returning the ticket price to cross their mind, they are already getting shouts, someone holds a chair, threatening to throw it into the popcorn machine and some else is ready to throw punches.

I started going on Wednesdays, when our cinema chain has 50% off on all tickets. I guess because that's the slowest day for them in a week.
Otherwise it's way more expensive than renting a digital copy and watching together.
There is no such thing here in Israel.
In the US, you have matinee showing, for example in the middle of the day, at a significant discount. Whenever I am in the US, usually for conferences, I just pop in there in the noon break.
Since 2008 these are mandatory on any place that sells goods or services, and the majority shit themselves or change their BS immediately when you ask for it.

@tonizito Now that I think about, isn’t there a mandate of the EU where a business is required to fund any service if the customer is unsatisfied or the business failed to provide the service? And a refund is cash, not a gift card for “Wednesday”.

Just say you will do a chargeback. Chargebacks are costly to handle (like 25$ automatically for the seller, regardless of the outcome) and everyone tries to avoid them like plague.
Place I work at even tries to Minority Report this shit and predict who might do a chargeback... and ban them ahead of time even before their first purchase
Hehe good to know. Well, we're going on Wednesday. Everyone had to write their names and email on a paper. So hi-tech!

I think this is the yuropeon law, and yes:
If you keep the receipt and packaging fairly intact then you can return pretty much anything (well, underwear and some logical stuff like that is excluded, naturally) under two weeks. Refund is in cash or on your bank card, no BS store credit although sometimes they try the latter but it never sticks.

Am I the minority here to think that Cameron's action packed Aliens was much more entertaining and captivating movie than the Scott's original horror flick Alien?
So no wonder in my heart I barely even give any benefit of doubt to another Alien themed horror film, which is also full of teens and made in today's day and age of woke sensitivities and talentlessness.
But then again I'm generally not into horror movies since my teens ended.

First of all, yes, you are the only one.
But the two are unrelated. This one is retarded not because it’s a horror flick with xenonorphs in it, but because the script is absolutely retarded.

Ian Holm looked terrible, this dragged the movie down a lot. How was this approved There
are so many talented people who could've fixed this in a couple of hours, for free but named in the credits.
Cool visuals, liked the acting of the android dude, the rest was meh at best.
Super fan-servicy while not having a consistant delivery. Didn't give a shit about any character.

The amount of shills saying this movie was pretty much just as good as the first and second
Unprecedented shilling. Well, maybe not, it happens more and more, but i saw a BUNCH of reviews where the person was just acting absolutely awestruck, rambling about how incredible it was, and with a cool twist to boot!
This is by far the worst alien movie, absolutely no competition here. I was way, way more entertained with Alien 4, cool characters etc.
How this has 7.4 on IMDB is... super consistent too, its not dropping. they must have bought a shit ton of bots to accomplish this. i've not heard a single (real) person liking it.
it's not "right after". It's been 1 week, if it was 2 days, sure.. it'll drop, but i'm not so sure it'll drop to 5 range, even though i think most real people vote 5 or lower. eventually the bots will die off i guess.
