Sony’s “The Crow” will be released in theaters on Oct. 11, 2019, the studio announced Friday. A remake of the 1994 classic directed by Alex Proyas, the new “Crow” is expected to star Jason Momoa with Corin Hardy as director.
The Crow is once again taking flight, this time with Bill Skarsgård starring in the “modern reimagining” that will be directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell), Bloody Disgusting learned. Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter FKA twigs (Honeyboy) also stars.
Pulled from creator James O’Barr’s gritty comic, The Crow follows Eric Draven, who returns from the dead to track down his killers and avenge his murdered fiancé with the help of a mystical bird.
The new film is said to be a fresh take on the original material with Skarsgård playing Draven, following in the footsteps of the late Brandon Lee.
Zach Baylin, who is coming off an Oscar nomination for penning King Richard, wrote the script.
The project is well into pre-production ahead of a June start date, with shooting to take place in Prague and Munich. The budget is in the $50 million range, writes THR, who first broke the news.
The Crow was a very 90'ies movie when Goth was a big thing. Emo's probably liked it as well. Now? Not so much. We'll see. It depends on how they reinterpret the source material.
Watching this trailer invokes too many memories of the Florida Joker
I’m not sure about the short hair, he needs a long haired wig at least.
And who the fuck is FKA Twigs?
They should have just had him be one of the other Crows from the comic books and not Eric Draven since all of them pretty much have similar origins and become the Crow when they and their loved ones are murdered. Michael Korby from The Crow: Wild Justice comic book would have been a perfect one to use since he already had a bunch of tattoos and at least it would be close to this look.
That trailer was awful, especially the music. Gore looks good.

I like the first movie and the sequel to a lesser degree and I've never been opposed to remaking it, but this looks unappealing. It's a remake for the skibbidi toilet generation.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

The original movie was a goth-styled supernatural revenge flick.
This remake looks like an emo-styled angsty revenge flick.
