Looking good!
I don’t really know any French but I do know deux is two.
Apparently ‘Folie à Deux’ translates to ‘Madness for Two’ if anyone else didn’t know
Not my type of movie. But the last one wasn't either.
Came across as pretentious fluff to me, but just my opinion. I can't do forced induced emotion movies, much less one that does it for the villian "Evil people have feelings too ya know!" the longer it went, the more he did "two wrongs make a right" the less I cheered for him, which was the opposite of what I think I was suppose to do. By the end of the movie me and my daughter had TOTALLY opposite opinions of his character of person. (I mean I guess sort of right in what it made me feel? I deeply disliked him and the joker and his childish lashing out reasons for his actions..so deeply dispising the joker worked?).
Got on a side tangent there...
But looking at the style, genre, I will have to give it a pass. Sure it will be a decent movie for its setting and style. Just neither are mine.

It being a musical is a big turn-off for me. First one was one of the best movies of that year.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
First one like I said, had the opposite effect on me. Longer it went, less I cheered for him and more I disliked him. And not dislike him in the way of "sad memories of what made the infamous joker" type way. Like viscerally disliked him and the reasonings.
Like the character had a lack of really any redeeming qualities he held onto as it went, and gained new ones to resent him for. All it really ended up was stipped to "Buck society norms and faux civility..viva la Che Guevara!" angsty type lashing out.
Maybe that was the point. It was very well played and made.

If it was, it was very unenjoyable for me then The longer it played, the less I wanted to watch him..lol
I fully admit, not a style well aimed at me. Since I never have empathy/sympathy/connections to movie characters. The good to balance the bad, was missing to 'emotionally justify' his actions in my head.
“I’d rather have questions I can’t answer than answers I can’t question.“ Richard Feynman.
But I do have to admit, nothing they can do can be worse that Jared Leto Joker.
His whole "What if macaulay culkin was an angsty brooding trust fund brat" angle on the joker was just bad in every way to me.

I have no doubt Phoenix will ace this again, problem is the writers, if they don't ditch the pretentious "story" plot that ruined the first movie, this could end up being another wasted opportunity (except maybe for a second Oscar for Mr. Joaquin).
I'm probably stupid for being hyped about this but i can't help it. I hate musicals. I hope there's not too much of it, i don't mind 3'ish 2 minute songs.
The first movie is amazing on so many levels, even outside of it being just a movie. I US where they got the idea (from MSM outcry) that you must walk through a metal detector if you want to see it, because it's very likely if you want to see a movie like this you are a "dangerous Incel". like wtf...???
