Finished this last week. It's a great game plagued with technical issues.
Even with a 4090 i had frame drops and what seems to be a memory leak or something.
After a few hours of playing the framerate would drop to below 40. A restart of the game fixed it for the next few hours.
I had to disable ray tracing a few times because the game kept crashing at certain bossfights.
The game itself was great. Hopefully a third game will get some more time in the oven.

Sadly won't happen.
The first game still has stuttering issues.
This one won't be fixed.
Any further sequels will just repeat the same bullshit.
Yup, Fallen Order's stuttering is jarring and omnipresent regardless of the system/memory/SSD/NVMe used. For what it's worth, it's one of the games that benefit from using DXVK which definitely alleviates the issue, sadly however that doesn't apply to Survivor since the game is DX12-only (I haven't played it yet, but I will once Mr. D is gone)

I liked fallen order, this is samish, it's a matter of preference.
Performance was allready fixed. It's more a matter of people not wanting to tweak their game. Like "I bought a 4090 and now I demand Ultra settings 4K with everthing raytraced without using an upscaler, but my game dips at 40 FPS when I look at my FPS couner game once in a while YOU CAN'T EVEN PLAY THIS WITH A 4090!!!! game is baaaaaaaaad."

Yeah, that's not what I read and watched.
Not a case of FPS, but one of the worst cases of constant, unavoidable stuttering:
Just garbage.
Dead Space remake is another one, but I'll probably give that one a shot... someday. Maybe DXVK will help, probably not though

Watched the vid. I don't see the stutters but that's me perhaps. Those guys are just complaining for clicks.
They are using a ryzen 5 3600!!!!. That's a 5 year old budget CPU. I have a 7 3700x. I my game has microstutters with stable FPS (as shown in the vid), I blame my hardware, not the game. Sure you could argue the cores are not all maxed, doesn't matter: it's ancient hardware.
But trashing the game for microstutters -shown with very old hardware-, it's just hating it for hating the game.

Performance is fine, get a life.
Sure.
After you get a brain first. And watch the video again. And then watch it once more, hear what is said, look at the frametimes and floaty framerate.
And then read peeps writing the same in the comments and on other articles.
Good for you not having a problem with it, but it completely ruins it for me and I have no problem playing very VERY old games, as long as they run smoothly. Still waiting for that NASA machine that will let me play Cryostasis without all the issues

If you've never stopped so why should I?

This patch focuses primarily on performance and quality of life improvements for the PC version of the game.
Performance Improvements
Framerate improvements for various hardware configurations.
Fixes for several sources of framerate hitching for smoother gameplay.
Ray Tracing has been optimized for CPU usage and should now scale better for high-end GPUs.
Fixes for performance related to using a mouse as gameplay input.
Quality of Life
The “Optimizing Game Files” screen has been optimized and can now see speed increases from multiple CPU cores.
Mouse and keyboard functionality has been improved across a variety of menu screens, including the first time user screens, title menu, game menu, and workbench.
Bug Fixes
Fixed collision issue where players could fall through elevators at low framerates.
Fix for a conversation-related crash when walking away from NPC characters.
Fix for various, intermittent crashes. motion values, and not just the custom value and the default game speed.
I'm glad this one has been cracked, I really liked the first game, and with my new rig arriving next week, there's something I'm actually almost eager to play.
As for the game itself (I played it at launch with 1$ pass) it's pretty good. It's a bit less coherent as far as story and level layout is concerned, esp. compared to the first one.
Dead Space remake is another one, but I'll probably give that one a shot... someday. Maybe DXVK will help, probably not though
Dead Space Remake is totally fine, the microstutters are nearly unnoticable. It's just DF trying to find stuff to nitpick or attention whores.
I am not saying DSremake doesn't have stutters, but they are mostly during traversal and have zero impact on playability. Whoever stays away from this game because of the alleged stutters is insane.
“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”
- Albert Camus
Pretty fair to complain loudly about stutters both micro and whatever. That shit needs to be addressed and being a overly positive faggot never helps anyone.
