wat, this is the type of audience disney and marvel and whatever "progressive" studios are doing the movies for...all the stupid shit thats been released in recent years.
I watched this in IMAX last week. It was a fantastic retelling of historical events. It's quite historically accurate and the artistic liberties Nolan has taken are fitting for the narrative. Acting, cinematography, music, dialogue are top notch.
Aww BeyondTheTrailer still a cutie after all these years, still doing her makeup and hair like a crack junkie though
But yea I just saw the movie and I dont know
It's like the perfect movie. Great budget, a brilliant director, the perfect story and cinematography, great actors all around.
And somehow I left the cinema not being sure If I needed to see that movie.
Prolly more interesting to just read an Oppenheimer biography and some wiki pages or watch a proper Manhattan Project documentary with real clips/interviews etc.
Also why does this movie insist on being so loud? Anyway..
First ~10 mins were pissing me off ("boohoo I 'm so smart but but my giga autism is holding me back noooooo boohoo") but then it got better. The "timelines" were slightly confusing at the first but they ended clearing them up regarding the when, how and why. As for the rest, already knowing the story re: the bomb it wasn't anything new but it was well done, but no more than that.
So, same as dunkirk and I guess el nolan's "non-fiction" just don't work as well for me as his fiction stuff.
In fact, in the end of the movie I was thinking that not only did I like Tenet better, that one was much more memorable than this one and dunkirk will ever be for me.
And with better music too

a waste of nolans talent. why would anyone watch a 3h long talking movie from him when other directors can do this? the testing scene was the best part of it. really disappointing. very overhyped movie, because it jumps in timelines so often it felt very disconnected.
he should get hans back and do big sci fi technical movies again, its what he does best
The movie could not decide between the story of the Bomb (trinity) or Oppenheimer.
I can understand why it can get away in theaters with the big wide shots and close ups. But the storytelling is not there.
found it very dull, WAY TO FEW EXPLOSIONS, and NO DEMONCORE scene
they litterally dont mention a dude who gave his life (after he fucked up bigtime but then used his body to shieldothers n fix his mistake) for the project and his colleagues ...
