Well, after 14 or so hours, I'm finally getting to the lgbtq/transgender stuff, with Taash Her story arc, with the mommy issues, is so bad and pointless, compared to the other characters

I’m hearing this might be popular for 2nd hand trade in and before long, it will be super cheap so preowned physical disc might be the way I play Dragon Age: The Veilguard, unless it hits EA Play first
Well I hear the game is better if you actually play it.
The game generally gets destroyed by anyone who hasn't played it but a lot of people who did play it are getting enjoyment. I’m not skipping it completely so I can make my own my mind up but I’m glad to not be paying full price for it.

This is what i dont get.
I usually see mediocre games a waste of my time nowadays.
FOMO is a big factor with these games imo.
Writing is bad, combat is fun but gets stale, game disregards it's origin, level design is weird at times, most characters are unlikeable(according to e.g. CohCarnage/Luality -> non political driven twitch streamers)
So whats left? Lore and worldbuilding and maybe you want closure for the story. I just went and watched all endings on youtube and none of it was mindblowing.
If a game is objectivley not really good why waste time on it especially if it's full priced.
If games like these succeed games might end up like dustborn.
Full on lectures about gender identity.
The issue with this is most pepople even non u.s. know most of the things about gender identity but dont accept it so lecturing doesnt work especially if it isnt organic like in this case.

good games make me want to play them, not run the other way.
I enjoyed DA:O a lot back in the day but this game is a 180 in tone and everything else. a DA in name only.

I also saw it getting destroyed by people that played all the previous games and were just disheartened in how they fucked up the setting, characters and even areas from the previous games so much. What's the excuse for those guys disliking the game?
I couldn't even get into Inquisition so I won't waste my time with this shit.
