Skyrim was 13 years ago....why is first person melee combat so...non impactful and floaty . In this day and age, i had hoped combat systems would have more impact and meaning, I know it's an RPG and all about damage and number modifiers etc but i just can't do weightless combat anymore. KCD was at least interesting, any other games where the first person melee combat actually feels weighty and like it has impact depending where you hit the enemy?

Vermintide i thought did a good job. Kind of shit game but at least the melee combat was well done.
Another of my favorites-Dark Messiah of Might and Magic but it was the kicking-enemies-into-spikes-and-off-ledges mechanic that was the star, not the sword fighting itself.
If the abysmal interface will be toggle-able and the performance won't be disastrous, then I can see myself isodemoing it - if only for the Pillars lore and handcrafted world. The tone/direction seems acceptable as well (unlike Veilguard). Also, there are no romances which is a plus these days
lol... so the game directory says one of his intensions was to make people like Elon Musk mad.
Imagine being so salty that you think it's ok to risk ~50% of potential buyers just because you think it would be funny to make these people very disappointed.
Honestly it looks like a decent AA title. Obsidian has not devolved with their writing like Biowere has, at least not yet, so I expect a fairly entertaining game.
u wot m8?
If The Outer worlds isn't a devolution in their writing, the word has lost all meaning!
The game still looks terrible, I don't know what you guys see in it. It seems its fate will be obvious.
Development taking second place to activism is never a good sign either.
Americans really can't help their political hysteria & main character syndrome. Shoving their drivel at work and every gathering possible. Every election year I have to hide under a rock from every American I know until their period ends. Otherwise the idea of the rest of us not giving a fuck and just wanting a decent escapism product never crosses their minds.
I'm sure there's dozens of other non-American game devs you can pull games from during your "under a rock" time, no?
Fortunately, there's a huge backlog of pre 2015 games I can escape to. Back when the business was about delivering what the costumer wants. But holy shit, compared to any other country, you guys go INSANE over politics god damn no wonder yall need some big pharma opioid chill pills. Tearing everything down over genitals n shit yall crazy.

Allegedly Microsoft started damage control and forced every cuck from Obsidian to delete their X accounts. There were a couple of other Obsidian employes that nuked their accounts.
