You don't need the exact make and model. Just the board serial.
Do you think they redesign and pay for a whole new board for every single make and model for every manufacturer? LOTS of the mid-range 'not Samsung or LG" share the same board (or iteration) and even minor revisions in the board work fine replacing older ones. How do they make them so cheap? By using off the shelf parts. They can't make a $300 65" TV if they had to design every board in it just for it.
Also, a 45" TV doesn't need a different board than a 50, 56, 60 ,60 65 inch model. They all share the same one.
my roku TV is using a decoder board from 2 'gens' newer and bigger one. it's the same board. The board cost me $30.
As for getting rid of it, sit it by the road. Someone will take it. You rather give it to a thief to throw away for you or fix it. or someone who sees it and wants to save it from the dump and fix it?
