A TV i gifted my dad just died. It's fairly old, above 10 years for sure. SONY kd-55x8505b. It's an IPS LCD panel
It got the 4 times blinking red LED light on our SONY BRAVIA TV. Tried disconnecting for minutes and replugging in with no other cables but the antenna one. I even tried plugging the TV directly to the wall socket without the tri-plug adapter thing, it just turns off like 10secs after the image shows up.
I don't think warranty's gonna cover this one up and we don't believe we can buy parts or be able to fix this ourselves, and not sure if SONY's gonna be able to do something about it (If possible let us know, please) so i wanted to ask for guidance regarding a new TV in case the worst happens.
It's been a long time since i've not looked at TVs so i need some guidance on features, etc...Along different brands/models for each
It must have:
-50-55"
-Real 4K (Ours was upscaled or something)
-120hz (If possible, if not it's ok)
-4 HDMI ports for sure (less is a NO)
-USB ports with actual codec compatibility (h264, x264/x265,etc)
-Optinally internal Chromecast
-Be able to turn the TV and go to the last TV channel/input instead of Chromecast/whatever
-Be able to disable TruMotion (Soap opera FX is a huge no)
-Whatever that is better than our dying TV
-Reliable brands (SONY, maybe LG)
-Voice command (Volume to ##, turn off)
-Remote control with numbers, PRG/VOL -/+, Mute, etc...)
It must NOT:
-NOT be a SAMSUNG TV , since you cannot disable TruMotion/Soap Opera FX at all and we had one and we didn't liked it at all
-NOT OLED (Main use for TV channels with the obvious static images/logos)
-NOT VA (If a monitor's smearing is applied here too then we don't fucking want it)

We don't have that very "exact" model but we have a similar one, even where i work at
The QNED 55" LG 55QNED80T6A 4K UHD Smart TV
It actually costs 649€ instead of 900€
While the TV's not for me (It's for my parents) , i own a LG C3 (To replace another SONY TV due to a "vertical green line on the left side, the size of an adult middle finger...) and i want to ask for specific stuff
-Are the UI and menus the same as my C3?
-Controller has voice detection? (the "Hi LG" + command)
-Is the 4K real or upscaled?
-Can it play Youtube vids at 60FPS (when the vid supports it)?
-TruMotion can be disabled?
Also, just in case, would there be a trusty SONY BRAVIA alternative?. Just in case (My dad's a SONY TV fanboy ,so to say, but the LG alternative is a nice ...Alternative)

i think the more recent OLEDs have really good burn in protection
my C9 is now five years old. i even turned off auto-dimming via service menu. so far NO signs of image retention / burn in

I would offer to help. But my TV preference is: Does it have a screen? Yes. It's a TV.
Ours is a 60(something) inch Roku that was like $300. I don't watch TV much and when I do its comedy, cartoons, or documentary shit like "How Its Made". As long as I can see it, that meets my requirements..lol

Sony KD-55X80L
Sony KD-55X75WL
Most recent Sony IPS all 60Hz only and midrange TVs
They use almost exclusively VA and OLED panels now
A95L (QD-OLED) and Bravia 9 (VA+FALD) are best Sony TVs out now
Bravia 8 are WOLED, Bravia 7 are all VA
Sony has best processing of all TV brands but they are more expensive than others!
LG is the only TV brand that uses majority IPS panels

Most do, but not all. You can check response time measurements on rtings.com for example.
