nvidia's new one seems great, but requires 80GB vram i noticed
https://softology.pro/voc.htm is hosting quite a few various text models, i would recommend using it to run them unless you're a really advanced user who knows how to even install them, i certainly don't...
ai is extremely demanding, so when a dev has to choose between ai and graphics they almost always go for graphics.
but i do hope it will change.. we just need one game for each genre with exceptional AI, then people are going to be begin to compare to that game and they will demand more.
Only 10-second clips, but I have animated my dog who passed away playing in a park from a pic of her, and a video of my father outside cooking in a BBQ from a pick of him at one. A video of our tabletop characters in a bar drinking from an AI image we made of them.
Daisy the AI grandma is here to answer calls from scammers and waste their time
Daisy (also written dAIsy), the AI grandma created by UK carrier O2 to trap scammers into a long and futile conversation, so they waste as much time as possible on the phone as they try to get her to input her bank details into her computer.
If you listen to dAIsy working her AI-magic on scammers in the video below you'll be able to hear that she is indistinguishable from a human and responds to the scammers by playing into people’s preconceptions about senior citizens not being comfortable with technology. Scammers become increasingly frustrated as they try and try to get her to enter a fake web address into her browser, or enter her personal information, only to have to endure long and meandering conversations that ultimately lead to nowhere.
Things are going so fast now. Chatgpt 3 to 4 took 2 years. Now there are massive improvements in AI tech about every 3 months.
Crazy month.
Sora being released. Veo2 crushed sora a couple of days later with Alphabet casualy claiming nr 1 stop in about everthing AI related, for the time being.
And yesterday openAI o3 is anounced to claim back the nr 1 spot.
I don't buy the AGI claim yesterday that youtubers are celebrating for o3, it just has beaten a test and can't do shit on it's own. But the pace things are going, it's scary.
2025 will be scifi like.
AI being caught as deceitful (lying, pretending), even duplicating itself even if ordered not to, is kind of scary. But it has learned these behaviors from the best, i guess
"can't do shit on its own"? uh. i think you need to get updated on current AI. But also the ""argument"" is too broad to even understand what you mean with it.
AGI arguments on the whole is just fucking tiring. Who the hell even know what it is at this point. I'd say it was beaten ages ago, but the goal post of what it is is just put further ahead all the time.

Can't do shit on it's own: I mean a "true" AGI should be able to do any job at least as good as a human (Within it's psyhical limitations as a computer code) on it's own and take initiative.
o3 only showed it's capabel of abstract thought on a better then human level on a test, that's not AGI imho.
AGI is a big deal, it means that most people will lose their job.
Most people? No. I'd say 40% maybe, at most. If you think all jobs uses a computer you are extremely biased. I worked as a painter for 20 years, impossible for a computer/AI to do (and yes painter, not artist), there are tons of similar tasks that we will always need. Good luck using AI for plumbing etc etc. There are so many jobs that neither an AI or a robot could do.
Overall it's a really good thing that tiresome jobs will get automated, that type of labor isn't making anyone happy... they'd be more happy with an unconditional basic income. Which of course eventually must be a thing. More time for humans to do things they are happy with, spending time with your hobbies etc.
So better than human = not AGI. Ok. Like i said, the goal post is put further ahead all of the time, so it will never be reached because people will just say "that's not AGI, IMO"
the problem is that if those are the only jobs available and office jobs die, all those labor markets (which are already saturated) will get even more so, lowering wages to next to nothing with far less rights.
Job variety is essential for a strong economy. While seeing an overpaid lawyer pick produce and fixing pipes would be funny, less money circulating will be disastrous to an already fucked global economy.
I can think of a few worse things the rule in this universe is that it can ALWAYS be worse. I'm pretty sure people who get shelled every morning at 6 am and have their cities leveled would love the boring routine work life.
