I really like what I saw in these new gameplay videos.

Scouts with their new abilities are finally something else than just a weak unit with just moves++

I was afraid with the lack of builders at first, but it seems that we got rid of some annoying micro-management in the end.

I really like the design, game is looking absolutely marvelous.
Hopefully there will be an option to keep Leaders/Civs on par with history if we want to.

Can't wait do play "some" turns on this. Very Happy

I just can't get into modern Civ. To much micro and knowing the mechanics (by googling and using guides and not by just playing the game)
Had the most fun with the first 2. Just play the game blind, go for a conquering spree and just see what tech the game has to offer and how things develop.
Perhaps if they give diplomacy a boost, encouraging real strategy and tactics instead of microing your emipire to greatness, it could be fun.

Good video explaining most of the new features, especially the first 7 minutes focus on the main fundamental difference between Civ 7 and the most recent games in the series. From a strategic point of view it does seem to be streamlined but in a good way (judging by what is shown in this video) mainly looking to avoid or mitigate the tediousness of the late game. Content-wise seems to be the opposite, there seems to be much more variety in combining leaders (and their progression trees), civs, civ-specific tech and civic trees, etc.

Nevertheless, we'll have to wait and see how it will all play together and especially how that AI will turn out, that's an aspect that can make or break the game.

What comfort me a bit, is knowing upcoming Nintendo Switch "2" games are gonna be 80-90€ Laughing

And that this Founder Edition is way cheaper than the next FE graphics card I plan to get Crying or Very sad Very Happy

Well, the good part is - you don't have to get it Smile hell, you don't even have to play it! Razz

Personally i've been playing it since the first one (which i still own on Amiga in mint condition). So for me this is THE game to get this year Smile

Yeah, if the game turns out good (which from the previews seems there's a good chance it will) I will buy the standard edition (for the nu standard price Laughing) , I don't need the 4-6 additional Civs/leaders which I probably will never try or am not in a hurry to try, the ones already included in standard will give me hundreds of gameplay hours. Then a few years from now I can just buy them separately on a sale if I want to try them.

Also, comparing the price of a game to the price of a graphics card Laughing mais qu'est ce que tu racontes! But who knows? maybe that's where we're heading now Crying or Very sad

From the PC Gamer review:

Hmmmmm...

Also, reading the IGN review, sounds like this is going to need a shitload of modding before being able to play without feeling blindfolded.

ACK. Each one feels more and more streamlined. Sad
I didn't think they could dumb it down any more than the last few. I guess we will see.

Civ 6 with both big DLCs enabled became much more complex than vanilla, though, but yeah it sill needed quite a few mods to feel right.

Civ is not for me anymore. It's a weird get to know the overcomplicated mechanics type of game and exploit that. It has nothing to do with strategy.

Tried the game for 10 minutes. Its very nice looking, but they have removed shitloads of stuff. Can't even rename your towns (oh, and not many options when you create a game).

but im gonna give it a proper go tonight with an open mind (i have to as ive spent quite alot of money on it...lol)

I just finished the installation.

The process went without noticeable issues and under 3 mns.
The download graph looked absolutely beautiful Smile

9/10 so far

Must go to work now unfortunately Crying or Very sad

EDIT : I had the time to do a bunch of turns, so far so good. Graphics are stunning.
The game have no stupid launcher, already a good point. Smile

Damn, Steam reviews has it as "Mostly negative". Everyone's hating the UI, lack of options and calling the game unfinished.
Tbh, all new Civ games are "unfinished" compared to full DLC and modded old Civ. So not sure how much that's true here.

Fixed that for you.

Pre-ordering in this day and age, it's already been proved to be a -EV decision (just to use a term from card games).
