Just saw this thing. Guy is overreacting a bit, but at least he pulls arguments directly from the bible and what creators said about Henry years ago. I don't know how I feel about it.
Well, its your own choice if you want to go gay in the game so... just dont go gay I guess ??

I get that part, and wouldn't mind in any other RPG that wouldn't be set up in real world in somehow real historic era. That is what bothers me. There is no way that it would be ok for a Christian guy like Henry to have a gay romance without any negative impact at that time.
And to be clear, I'm far from calling it woke etc. It is clearly an option, like in any other RPGs, but just considering what this game is and its historic setup, messes up with my head. I expected semi realistic immersive sim, set in Bohemian history, and adding options like that breaks that immersion for me.
This is why I said, I don't know how I feel about it, as it is not forced, but also it is completely not needed to be in the game in the first place.
The game itself looks great so most likely will buy it when the price drops.
Dunno, it's a bit weird because in the first game wasn't it established that he was straight or very very chaste? And now all of a sudden he's a gaylord?
But IMO even worse is who he is being gay with, according from the spoilers.

Eight years ago, @WarhorseStudios declared their RPG's hero as a "straight male." In the sequel, he can be gay. What happened, and is it a problem?
Yes, it is a problem – but not because of the homosexual romance option. That part is fine. In general, it's not an issue if an RPG allows you to, well, role-play. Wanna be gay? Be gay. Don't want to be gay? Don't be gay. It's quite simple.
People change, realize their true nature, or go through phases: there are many reasons why straight Henry could be less straight if the player chooses so in the sequel.
Personally, I'm not a fan of out-of-the-blue changes to a hero's sexuality, even if it's optional. Imagine Witcher 4 and Geralt with an option to romance men. On paper, why not – I just explained why this is fine. In reality, it doesn't feel like a direction that flows naturally.
But to each their own, and if @DanielVavra believes the game should open up more paths for Henry, it's his right to do so.
So where's the problem?
The issue lies with whom Henry can become romantically involved –
Spoiler:
his best friend from the first game.
That character is no longer simply straight. Logically, he just cannot be. He is now either gay or in a quantum entanglement, both straight and gay simultaneously, depending on player's actions. No matter how you role-play, no matter how straight you want to be in the game, you now know that his identity has fundamentally changed.
In modern culture, we rarely celebrate deep male friendship anymore. Maybe I don't consume enough media, but I feel like such friendships are either portrayed as shallow or, on the other end of the spectrum, as romantic love.
Why didn't the creator choose literally any other character for the player to explore this aspect of sexuality with? I understand that if the player wants to be gay, then giving them the option to pursue
Spoiler:
their closest friend
might seem natural. But this comes at the cost of the story's believability and changes the original's established dynamics.
I am genuinely puzzled. When Ellie became lesbian in The Last of Us universe, it felt like virtue signaling to me, but at least I understood where it came from. Meanwhile, with Henry's situation, I truly don't get it. Knowing Daniel, it was 100% his decision and no one else's – but that changes nothing, I remain confused.
This doesn't change the fact that I'm going to play the hell out of the game and then see if maybe I'm missing something. I don't play big RPGs on release for obvious reasons, but in a few months, I'll happily start my journey. While – based on my current knowledge – I do think the gay romance option should have been handled differently, it's nowhere near a reason to skip what appears to be one of the best games of recent years.

Vavra crying about not wanting to be "a part of the culture war" while previously calling out woke games, wearing BASED T-shirt. How are you not part of the culture war if you're doing this.
He's an idiot. If you're gonna include woke / gay themes then at least don't pretend you're ultra-super-conservative-based and super anti-woke. because to people that care about that you'll come off as a a bit of a clown and disingenuous. Just shut up, don't go after gamers etc, it'll absolutely impact sales if you do, there's nothing to gain by it.
Being quiet as a developer is likely one of the best skills you can have these days <insert Vein Popping Guy meme> yes, talk about the game all you want of course, but politics, just don't.
Vavra ain't stupid. Look at him! Does he look like he went every Sunday to church... ?!
He also knows how to make money.
Of course - if he could - he would 'insert' some controversy in the marketing recipe, so people would promote / drama about it's game, and create even MORE publicity.
EDIT
And you know what I find 100x times more offensive that this... nonsensical KCD2 drama... ?!
I don't understand people's issue with Abraham 'Abby' Anderson. Are they just jealous of his muscles because they're a bunch of gym virgins who never touched a dumbbell in their life and never got to experience, as Arnold put it, cumming in the gym?
I get that he's kind of a lousy golfer but other than that he's a pretty cool character.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

He?
Why you say? (dunno if you were going the sarcasm route?!)
Spoiler:
Maybe a character that isnt likeable and kills a likeable main character from the first game with asspull reasons for politicial agenda's sake does that to people.
e.g.: "hey its the new futurama season with fry but some manly female character comes into the series brutally murdering fry and claiming he is a rapist even though there was no hint to that in the first game.
Having a lot of fun with the game but man has it got to be one of the ugliest i've played in a long time. Blurry mess-skybox is comically low res, the bloom is out of control-sometimes i swear it looks worse than TES Oblivion

I love this game, just as the 1st one.
But what's even better is the state of launch version, this has to be one of the most polsihed games, taking into account it's huge scope naturally.
Apart from few graphical glitches and a small ui issue I've encountered no bugs, plus the godtier optimization is so refreshing to see in 2025.

You got to, otherwise it's block attack, enemy blocks yours, block attack, enemy blocks yours. At least its more fun to pull off master strikes than the first.
Eye cancer-thought everyone had this but apparently doesn't affect everyone. Also that night sky with the moon Looks like an amateur half life mod from back in the day.
And then other times the game looks pretty good. Heavily depending on time of day and how harsh the lighting is.
There's a special place in hell for developers that constantly strip the player of his hard earned gear in RPGs. I'll give them a pass for ONCE, story and what not, but I'm about halfway through and I've had ALL 3 OF MY OUTFITS (Combat, Charisma, Stealth) stripped from me on no less than 6 separate fucking occasions. Hell, once, I arrived at a castle, re-equipped everything, only to lie down in a bed not 5 minutes later and have Henry the fuck-stick decide to strip off all his clothes and sleep naked (no, he didn't get laid).
It'd be one thing if it was head/torso/legs/shoes - but you've got like LAYERS upon fucking LAYERS of shit. Not to mention 4 goddamn belt and weapon slots. Multiply that times three outfits, and every time it happens its like 15 minutes of needless work. I've lost HOURS to this shit.
So yea, fuck the faggot who decided to make that a thing - hopefully someone mods that the fuck out - or at least introduces a "saved outfit" mod to counter it.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.
