Now you can also be a female sumo wrestler (women has never been allowed to be sumo wrestlers in Japan)
...i guess just in case if someone would assume they still respect Japanese culture and aren't trolling / being super salty enough about Japan, its people and its culture.
I don't think they're trolling. I think it's just a generation raised on anime that think they know Japanese culture, but they have a very shallow/surface level understanding of it and are very lazy/confident about it.
And you can see this shit a lot with European historical media. It's absolutely fucking insulting how bad most of it is. It's just people in Europe don't give enough of a shit/don't know better.
These things could have easily been prevented by hiring a single Japanese consultant, or having actual Japanese devs on the team. It's 100% laziness.
Edit: or 100% on purpose

I think they are. It's not coincidence every time they do this. "oh the release date is on a famous historical terror event, we promise, we didn't know!" the odds are pretty low.
"oh we forgot to spend 5 seconds on research before we made a new character, soooo sorrrry!"
Nah, no chance. If this required like years or many months of research, sure. It's a 5 second thing with chatgpt or whatever.
These idiots likely think women are being oppressed so they'll have to teach the Japanese a lesson, this is as modern ubi-soft as it gets.
Im guessing UBI trying to just rebrand something again. Like their AAAA thing and this now with New-gen. Basically if you hear those terms you know its UBI and stay away.
I hardly see any difference between low and ultra settings (0:35). They should learn a lesson from KCD 2 in that department

The Yasuke simulator team has done its research and went above and beyond to provide a totally historically accurate depiction of Feudal Japan with Yasuke the Samurai.
