I've not had a gaming PC for about 10 + years, before the world of Denuvo.
I'm now considering building one, but wondered how easily games are cracked these days? Do we still get Day 0 / 1 PC game releases, or does it take weeks/months?
I believe there are still some big Denuvo titles uncracked too, right?
Over the last 10 years I've got used to buying games again, although would still prefer to ISO-trial unless a game is online (in which case I'm fine with paying).
depends on the company, capcom, ubislop and sega are the major denuvo worshippers.
The rest are often just steam drm which you can crack yourself in a click. I'd say it's not as bad as it used to be, all sony titles are denuvo free so are most other games. Those that do have it lose it within a year or so especially with capcom.
Empress the only schizo denuvo cracker might have retired or not retired, it's quite a rabbit hole with that one I can't sum up in one post but definitely check it out if you want a good laugh.
Also depends on your gaming tastes and the genres you like.
I dont have much trouble finding releases of what I play, but I dont do AAA games or big releases with complex protections. Some of the bigger known games are hit and miss on releases in a 'timely' manner.
Like Fire said, if it's on steam there is usually a release you can crack, or a rando torrent user#4542 that uploads the files you can also crack pretty easy on your own.
Well if you dont have problems paying you can always buy games on steam and refund them after the trial period.
Besides that there is the xbox gamepass subscription where some newer games get released.
Controversial epic game store gives out a good free game now and then (weekly free games).
If you love them classics or semi old games ofc there is emulation:
Imo switch, ps3 and xbox 360 are in a good place imo.
Ps4 emulation has some playable games and gets better each and every day.
I'd say half of mine I pay for. But get off allkeyshop if they are cheap.
Can get some games there SUPER cheap.

I'd say not just the scene, but PC gaming in general is utter shite. Has been for quite a number of years now, of course. Personally, I would not build a gamer PC; it's just not worth it. I ended up building a mid-range rig last year, and I'm more than happy with it (except for the shitty Zalman case).
I'd largely echo what everyone else has already said here about the state of PC Gaming and the gaming industry in general - it's pretty much dead on the money.
But then, every once in a blue moon, you get games like Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Hades, etc. that bring that love of the hobby flooding back just when you thought it never would. Great games and releases to get excited for DO still exist - it's just that we've been shoveled so much utter SHIT in the last decade and a half it's just foolish to get excited for things anymore.
It seems like for every awesome game we get now'a'days, we have to shovel through 20 utter shit AAA and "Early Access" titles - some of which are not only crap, but cement into obscurity beloved past franchises (Dragon Age comes to mind).
I myself am debating whether or not to bother with it once my current rig gives out. The current state of the hardware industry ($1,000 GPU tiers that used to cost $300 merely 5 years ago) isn't helping.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

its a ultrafaggot. The amount of cocks that faggot has stuffed in his mouth is likely innumerable, I retch when i hear faggotry like that. It's not criminal to be a faggot and acting like a normal fucking guy.
Thanks to everyone that took the time to reply; it all pretty much aligns with exactly what I thought/expected. As someone with an XSX, PS5 & Switch (OG, Hacked), I’ve long considered PC gaming somewhat unnecessary (for my circumstances). That said, there are a handful of PC only titles I’d really really love to play - HL:Alyx is at the top of that list. I did own a PSVR1, but haven’t bothered with PSVR2 as it didn’t have any titles that excited me, and ofc it’ll never see HL:A sadly. There are also other games such as Hogwarts I’d love to isodemo but can’t bring myself to buy / justify buying.
Of course, a handful of PCONLY games simply cannot justify the expense (I’d want to spend £1500 probably, as I’d want something that’ll last me more than 24 months). My brother has a good rig so I may just borrow that when he’s next away for a few weeks.
I do have GP ultimate and despite all those games being available to me on my couch, certainly there would be times I’d prefer to be keyboard and mouse, away from the kids!
And of course, improved visuals is another thing that tempted me… I wanted to play through GTA5 again ahead of 6, but simply couldn’t stomach the low res / textures and horrible locked frame rate, despite playing on a PS5 “enhanced” version (). Still, simply not enough justification I don’t think!
To be fair, if it's just about playing PC games, you can simply get a Steam Deck. You won't have the PCMR experience , but it can basically play all PC games at least.

It’s at least 25% about HL:Aylx, 25% upscaled Zelda TOTK, and 50% about high end visual experience via ISODEMO gaming.
So whilst steam deck is cool and all, I don’t really want to be limited by hardware or having to endlessly tweak settings. If I do this, it’s gotta be mid/top end with easy as possible life.

30-40 fps with shite resolution. Steamdeck right now is going backwards into the future. At least wait until a new and upgraded version
There are a lot of games you can play at 60, but most new ones run poorly. I find that people with low standards skew things a bit. Eg:
It's running at sub-30FPS in any outdoor area (drops into the teens) and there are major artifacts from all the shit settings, but he's extremely happy to see how well this is performing, and he expects this to be 'Steam Deck Verified'.
This console peasantry really doesn't belong on a PC platform ImmOooo, as it will just mean more devs will target 30FPS with shit graphics moving forward
I recently played NieR + RE2 on it and it was fluid. ImoooOoom0oo00oOoo this should be the 'verified' standard:
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
