I know this is not the area of computers that most of you are knowledgeable in but i'm looking for some general tips on what that is good.

I'm looking for a cheap printer ( budget: 120 euros) that supports scanning and wireless printing (obviously colors as well when printing). That's about it, what brands are the best these days? HP?

Also, how do you guys set up wireless printing? Do you connect the printer to the router at home or?

Thank you.

My personal advice: stay away from brands like Epson and Brother( or any brand where the printing head is not attached with the cartridge ). From what I've seen those types of machines have trouble recognizing a new cartridge when it's inserted or end up with problems with the printing heads, which are built in the printer.

From the top of my head both HP4580 and HP4780 match what you're looking for.

HP is always a good (if not the best) choice. But the downside is that some of their models are a bit pricey.

I have Lexmark X6575 wireless fax/scanner/color printer. I love it because it has duplex and flatbed and automatic feeder scanner. The downsize is probably the software, but I don't use that at all grinhurt They are deliberately making the tint levels lower than they usually are.

Last cartridge I had lasted at least two months after the tint markers said that it's out, and I printed like crazy.

The other downsize is that it takes only 100 papers in the tray, but I don't really care, when I have no more paper I just put new one in (who would have guessed grinhurt) and that's it.

My sister has a laptop and she's printing via wireless just fine Smile

Thanks for the answers, unfortunately i couldn't find the Lexmark X6575 in any swedish store so it seems like they don't sell it here.

However I did find the HP4580, do you know if it works in a wireless network?

Do all printers that are made today generally work on wireless networks? Or will I have to find specific printers?

And how do you set it up? just connect it to a computer that is connected to the router, then pick the printer when printing out something in for example microsoft word?

Also, do you guys know anything about Canon Pixma MP560? Found it cheap as hell and it seems good.

I once tried to set up an HP4580 for a friend who was having trouble doing it, but I couldn't figure it out too. Sad
Tried to set it up without a router but it didn't work. He ended up returning it to the store, since the guy who sold the printer couldn't get it to work there too.

Regarding the Canon, I have one of the cheaper models myself (MP140) and it works perfectly too. Don't know about the MP560, tho.

My old inkjet printer is almost out of ink, so I want to get a new one. Is it possible to buy a great laser printer with scanner, for max 75 euros? It must have WLAN.

I got an HP OfficeJet 8010 basically for free. Knew what I was signing up for Laughing
After some mismanaging (cleaning too often, waiting too long between printing) got the final batch of cartridges now. Let's see how long it works.
If it craps out again will either look if its possible to refill them manually or throw it in the bin and get a Brother.
