I finished it. The game gets better in chapter 3 and 4, but everything goes down the drain in chapter 5. There's no proper build up for what happens and there's a disconnection between gameplay and narrative which takes all the joy out of it.
I think the best part about this sequel is the boost in production value, but this comes at a cost in terms of uneven performance. The game has its up and downs, but it lacks the vision of the original. It leans too much on the city builder side, but it's got nothing on specialized games of the genre. And it does this while sacrificing some of the elements that made the first Frostpunk so great.
