Also I liked it at least as much as the TLOU1. TLOU2 is just as phenomenal. And the "drama" surrounding it was completely overblown IMOOOOO.
i think most ppl think like that...
...it's just that a vocal minority is... very vocal

Dumbest thing i've heard Not a single person i know personally has said after the game was over and done that it was good. Every single one has complained about the regular plotpoints we hear about.

The post for this game has 2 pages. there are indie games that have more discussion around them.
Well guess the steam player numbers will show who the vocal minority really is.
The first game peaked at 37 k~

and the console thread has 19 pages, so? the majority already played it years ago, wats left to discuss other than wait to play the game?
On the plus side, the quality of the PC version of The Last of Us Part 2 is considerably improved over Part 1's disastrous launch. However, we've still got plenty of issues with this port: GPU performance is much lower than it should be compared to similar results from the 12-year-old PS4, CPU utilisation can be very, very heavy - and yes, there can be stuttering problems. Even beyond that, capping frame-rate for a smoother ride isn't as simple as it should be. Alex details the pros and cons of the conversion.

Guess gotta wait for patches ...Part 1 had I think about 10 patches before game was in playable state and I think total of 16 patches!
Been playing for a bit, just past the whole "drama" part and it would have been such a strong and emotional bit for me if it wasn't for all the fuckers flooding the internet with the spoilers as soon the original game launched on PS4.
Sometimes it's simply impossible to avoid spoiling some plot twists for yourself where even fuckin youtube thumbnails often contain such spoilers and it's driving me crazy when people do such things, I'd fucking strangle each and every one of them
Still the game is great and I'm loving it. No issues with the port so far, performance is great, no bugs, hopefully it'll stay that way.

Blame the suits for pretty much chaining the devs to their desks during development, likely leading to someone snapping and leaking their shit. Funny how after that they revamped all that overtime shit

Gamejourno idiot blaming the lower player count when compared to the first game's PC launch on... *checks notes* ...piracy.
FFS these brainless faggots really, REALLY will make up anything to defend this game

Ellie and Ellie was such a disappointment, i couldn't even finish it. So boring in comparison to the first with two such different protagonists who had to work together etc, way better characters and story.
Overall just a super poor game in comparison to the first. I think it just works for one game, much because of the boring and super obvious exploration / combat switch that happens, it really makes it feel so less organic than what i'm used to in games. It was ok for 1 game, in the second i was rolling my eyes at it, it's so fucking game:y and unimmersive.

yeah pretty much, sucks to get spoiled back then, now i have more context but would have liked to experience it in game. i think the game heavily relies on that moment and the impact it has, 5 years later that impact is lessen, u had time to process but if u didnt knew then ud be pushing through it alongside with ellie and the very violent combat makes sense.
around 10h in, the technical part puts many games to shame even 5 years after release. the combat is nuts and the violence is crazy, but i think it does starts to drag a bit, i think each chapter is a little too long, its a change from tlou1 were that one was more linear and had more dialogue, this has more gameplay with larger arena levels and sometimes ur even alone. sure it has some quiet times but very far between the long missions
Played this on PS4 back in the day and went pretty far in to the game (I think I was near the end, no spoilers from me folks ), as far as the plot twists and "surprising" moments, after all those years I still have the same feeling about them, which is nice that I can experience the game again on a PC with the same "feeling" as before, Naughty Dog sure made up an incredible feat, too bad that the same can't be said about both game's ports
Surprisingly though, I'm able to maintain a solid 60FPS with everything maxed out + DLSS Quality (DLSS4 overriden on Nderpia App) on a R5 3600 + 3070ti @1080p, some micro-stutter ever once in a while (nothing that particularly annoyed me so far, dropping Texture/Shadow quality from Very High to High might help eliminate those issues but I havn't tested it yet) but a continent apart from the usual UE5 stutter-fuck-fest, thankfully lol
