In order for a special forces soldier to engage in hand-to-hand combat with an enemy, he must
1) somehow lose his machine gun, pistol, knife, bulletproof vest, helmet, entrenching tool, waist belt
2) find a flat bare area lacking any rocks, sticks, scrap metal
3) find at this area similar moron who lost all his weapons
and only then engage him in hand-to-hand combat.

But, let's say, that a special forces person during an infiltration mission gets captured. He/she becomes a POW in a camp. This person manages to escape, and he/she is without weapons. 
Combat training or silent killing techniques might be handy.
