So is it any good? first time ever i havent bought Blizzard game at release, somehow D4 managed to fuck up things so bad and become boring so....
Depends on what you want from it.
Do you want to play it for the campaign? Cannot recommend. Easy as fuck and boring quests.
Do you want to play it just with a quarter of your brain to do something else on the side? Works perfectly fine, rotation (at least for Necro) was super easy, don't really have to think or anything for most fights.

And what did you think about the main game?
I only played the campaign and some of the follow-up missions and because it was so piss easy, there was no tension at all. Build-ups for large boss fights and then the boss is dead in 10 secs.
I am not interested in any grinding or so, so I put it down afterwards.

Campaign was by far the worst Diablo, just awful writing overall and filled with useless characters that the devs tried to get you to care about by... i'm not sure? There was basically no reason to care about more than 1 or 2 of the characters in the game. And i thought D3 was pretty bad Aside from the laughable writing-the open world which gets boring versus more hand crafted locales. The worst thing they could have done with Diablo is try to give it some deep lore like they started doing with D3. Nothing did it better than D1 for me, atmosphere and plot wise.
Lot of running around and following NPCs.. lots of empty space in the open world with nothing to do or monsters to fight (this was at release, they may have upped density of monsters, not sure) I enjoyed the very beginning and end. End actually felt like a proper diablo game as the open world was de-emphasized and you were funneled into smaller maps with more monsters and you could tell it was finally accelerating towards a conclusion instead of more pointless macguffin fetch quests.
As far as gameplay, this has been an issue since D2 but has gotten worse with every iteration, but these games get hypnotic to play and you start to fall asleep playing them.. very formulaic-spam generator, build up resource and spend resource spender.. you fall into a trance playing them. Never happened in D1 and only happened in D2 after doing a couple hundred meph runs
I did try to get back into it a month or so ago, but it's just too bland. The whole world is a breeze, and it's not interesting enough to be as large as it is
Too many boring quests as well. As soon as they start talking I started to skip dialogue
Looking forward to trying POEII properly when it leaves EA because Diablo is stagnate as hell now

You should play it right now, its very good already.
I would, but everyone has told me what a piece of shit the expansion was. Felt like a waste of time. No clue if that's biased hate though. It was quite popular to hate Diablo 4 so you don't really know whose opinion to trust
poe2 in early access after few very quick patches is so better than d4 it literally hurts me as a lifetime long diablo fan since d1 spawn demo (if anyone even knows what that was). all it lacks is the diablo lore which i love, but oh well - they murdered it in d3.
tried se7 and at lvl 20+ the legendaries start dropping like turds. and my brain goes like, fuck u bitch im not reading any of that shit anymore alt f4
like im legit allergic to legendaries now ... with all that retarded text ,,,, fuck them devs for ruining my arpg appetite completely
even only bothering looking to upgrade only the weapon and destroying everything else proved to much. so much shit dropping . its really is a garbage disposal simulator ...
I still don't understand how people can like PoE. I have tried to get into it multiple times; actually, want to but it seems like a slog playing it. The skill tree is overwhelming, drops weren't great, there's little info I found regarding builds (this was a couple of years back so haven't looked recently), and just didn't hold my interest. Prob need to watch a Let's Play on how someone starts it; maybe I'm doing something wrong/picking the wrong class.
I was hoping to hear that PoE 2 will be more engaging but someone here said if you didn't care for PoE then you prob won't like the second. So basically the same old thing, similar to Diablo 3/4. Grim Dawn I loved as did Wolcen (older early access version was great; the release not so much) and Last Epoch.

I like the first one better myself.
But the reason I like it, might be why @Breezer_ likes the 2nd better.
1 was more 'get gud' endgame to even do maps. Up until around 1/2 way to cap you could get by with an 'ok' build but really need to theorycraft it in PoE1 to not die 1/4 of the time.
PoE2 seems more casually focused. Now it's not diablo4 "You cannot make a bad character" type casual. But slower paced, more forgiving, and easier to understand
Like skills and supports are simpler. No need to figure out gear and fuss with socket count, and links in them, and shuffle stuff around to get the links and sockets you need.
I both like and don't like that.
PoE1 was the serious sam of ARPG (mass kill mobs in stupid numbers as fast as you can by min-maxing)
PoE2 is like that still a bit, but there is way less skill wall to get to the limited version it offers of that feeling of one button "You see that huge pack of mobs over there? Yes? Now you don't do you?"

Sure, but you will quickly find that your extremism makes us unable to agree what a mental patient is. So it is truly no point in doing so. Copy this quote as well, or shall I?

Thanks SumZero. 2 does seem to be what I am looking for. I think the reasons you listed for 1 re: gear, socket count and links are a big reason why I didn't like it. Nice to see they changed it a bit. I think I will def try it now.
guts as a bearded barbarian is a disgrace indeed ... and having him stands next grifith an insult to the franchise wtf .... anyhooowwwww just oberpriced cosmetics sales trash
