The Stones of Madness is a real-time tactical game in which you're a prisoner in a monastery. Your job is to recruit a team of inmates and work together to escape.
So this finally came out in January. Been playing it for the past few days and I'm really enjoying it. The stealth uses familiar elements from real time tactics games but with more focus on investigating clues and solving mysteries. You can kill or knockout enemies, but this comes with a cost to your health and your sanity. You don't work your way through the map cleaning all of the enemies, but rather sneak around and avoid them as much as possible.
A lot of the reviews bemoan the lack of manual saving, and although I thought the same at first, once you get to grips with the game flow it's really not a problem. The game is auto-saved at the beginning of each day and at the end of the day you are returned back to your cell to manage your characters, upgrade skills and choose which characters to take for your next objective.
Seems to have been released with almost no fanfare, which is a shame.
