At 43:00, just one place I snapped to, the world looks really bad. Like the shit brown games we typically got from that time. Being green and lush made Oblivion stand out, it lost something with these updated visuals
No wonder those colour grading mods got so many downloads
A mysterious Oblivion Remastered update has resulted in a UI bug that's stopping some players from changing their graphics settings.
A smattering of reports claim that since this new Oblivion Remastered update dropped, graphics settings have been reset or, in some cases, entirely removed.
While no official patch notes have been released, there are dozens of reports from players accessing the game through PC Game Pass claiming that a small update for Oblivion Remastered went live a few hours ago. After downloading it, they’ve found that all of their graphics settings have been reset to default. The update also appears to have completely removed the option to enable or disable DLSS for some players.
there is no ai ... its all scripted not a single game has ai, its all preprogrammed behaviours . show me one game that has a real ai that will use all this ai hardware nonsense
advantage of shadow drop. people have bought it before reviewers can warn them about poor optimization ... ill say it again loading times are messed up. unacceptable and doubt it will ever get fixed or modded
sad state of gaming . the consumers dont care anymore
I blame UE5 because other UE5 games (Avowed, Eternal Strands) run with exact same shit performance level and exact same stutters. There are some exceptions (like Satisfactory and Breathedge 2 demo which also use UE5 but have good performance and no stutters) but those might be due to not using Lumen.

So, anyone here tried it yet?
The main traversal stutters are still there for me no matter the mods/settings used, though that specific ini improved frametimes a bit. It's honestly quite disappointing to have a lot of discrepancy in the visuals as well - switching back and forth between great-looking and barren whilst giving some auto-generated/uncurated feeling to the remustard. Add to that the piss filter's unceremonious return, and the result isn't too remarkable as far as modern technology goes, sadly.
It's a handy 1:1-ish package that just works(tm) out of the box with QoL benefits, but playing vanilla Oblivion for more than a few hours feels mundane just like it did back in 2006. I'll give it another shot when (if) the not-so-Unreal will be improved and the much-needed gameplay overhauls will be out.

Yeah, helped on the biggest stutter I had so far(going towards the first ayleid ruin, circling the big imperial building from the right).
After that, the worse Issue I had was anywhere exiting from an interior to the worldmap or one of the imperial city districts having an fps dip for ~0.5s, this also helped.
Well, I don't really have stutter problems, apart fomr loading into outdoor areas in towns, which is like 0.2 secs. I can live with that.
The Ascension Remastered mod sounds absolutely fucking great, will grab it tomorrow! (Now that I've already looted some mithril gear from dead bandits at level 11, lol.)
Well, just horsed from imperial city to chorrol and the stuttering was just like old times, back in 2006
To be fair it only got really bad near weynon priory, just before the city games
I'm also still using the December 2024 driver AYUND still didn't swap/replaced the DLSS dll

wtf? Runs great on my pc... i would have bought it if it was abit cheaper than it is (currently playing on gamepass - but will buy it at some point).
Only thing i wish was that it supported my resolution. The one it autoselect work great, but i'd rather have it taking full advantage of my screen resolution.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
Has anyone tried the Ascension mod yet? I almost have, now, but then I read it actually breaks stuff for some people, so I'm kinda cautious.
Is there just a separate loot rebalance mod available somewhere? One that also affects hostile NPCs (i.e. bandits and such running around in OP gear, which is just highly weird).
Nope. I am keeping an eye on such mods each day, but IMooO there's no point in playing yet, the mods you see now will all be so far off the top 1000 when proper mods hit. Gameplay tweaks, models, overhauls etc beyond the scope of a few modifier edits with what's currently available.
Plus they will likely patch it a bunch in the meantime
