Couldnt find any existing thread.

S2 is out and its pretty good.
The whole 1883 and follow up 1923 is very good.

1923 is the best of them. 1883 was okay. Yellowstone is awful because of various characters and their arcs.

Storywise I like how 1923 keeps it going through different locations, there's lots of adventuring and plots to follow which makes it more interesting.

The common theme through all of them that really grates me is how they spew on and on with what they think are quotable quotes, about the way things should be, how beautiful everything is, how it's all being ruined by progress etc. I started skipping Yellowstone dialogue every time it started, and it started often. It's so contradictory if you even just look at it from the viewpoint of anyone else, but primarily American Indians. The Dutton family are basically the same as those they seem to loathe. The creator steers characters and the story in a way that makes this family always look noble and righteous, no matter what they do or say, and it reeks of his vanity.

I guess if you're an American watching it, you might see it differently, but it's the most self-serving narrative in a TV show that I've come across.

Decent shootout to a very dreary season. Episode 1-6 were totally useless.

PC: Yes. Console: No.

I've always been of the opinion that 1883 is far superior to this show, and now having read the reactions here, I don't even wanna see S02. I actually think Ford, for example, looked fucking bored out of his mind throughout S01.

Yes, same.
The writing took a steep dive compared to 1883, in my opinion.
1923 felt like cliche after cliche. In particular the part in Africa was extremely predictable and something out of a pulp romance novel. Also the 'heroic' family getting away with multiple murders didn't really made me care about them in the slightest.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Despite manys' mixed reviews I think this was a good show. Definitely not for everyone but I think they did a good job in representing the era and how life sucked at so many levels. Story might've been a bit too slow but it was entertaining enough.

This show will be followed by upcoming 1944.

PS
1923 > 1883 > yellowstone

I haven't seen season 2 of 1923 with miscast Harrison Ford yet, but:

1883 > 1923 > Yellowstone
