What's so bad about leave the CD in the drive? If your CD drive is noisy, go buy a better CD drive.

Anyone who likes the old Lucas Arts adventures should definitely keep a close eye on Ankh which is basically a tribute to the old Lucas games. I started playing the german version some days ago and so far it's very nice. It's almost like Lucas Arts made a new adventure in the old way - nice comic graphics, likeable/weird characters, point & click interface and a lot of humor. One of the best adventures of the last years imo. I think the english version will be released soon, there's already an english demo available.

yep.. but if you have the german version.. search fot the ankh.ini file ..edit it and at the language replace 1 with 0 (or 0 with 1... you got the idea).. and you have a ENGLISH version of the demo.. i agree with you on the tribute to Lucas games.. it almost feels like monkey island(1-2-3 control and 4-graphics.) .. a definite must-get.. long live adventure games!

It seems that the game will come out in a lot of lanaguages, said Ragnar Tornquist in an interview.
Quote: |
That's the great thing about Europe is you have all these markets, and if you spend time localizing, there's an enormous profit to be made. The Longest Journey was translated into thirteen languages, and that's part of the reason why it sold so well. In Poland, it sold something like 20,000 or 30,000 which you just couldn't do if it was in English. I think a lot of American publishers don't know that or disregard that, they see it as a lot of work, but if you work with local partners, that's actually a smart way of doing it. And the same in Asia too. Something we're going to do with Dreamfall, or at least with our next online game, is to get into Asia and make sure it's localized for every market and tailored for that market because that's where the big business is. I mean America and Europe are huge markets but Asia is enormous in comparison.

It seems the game will run smoothly with a regular system.
Quote: |
My system and settings
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Memory: 1 GB
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT
Sound Card: Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS
I played the demo at Ultra settings, which is the maximum. Anti-aliasing was set on the maximum, which was 4, and my screen resolution was 1280×1024. Everything ran pretty smoothly.

Easter, at least here, is two day holiday, same as Christmas. No need to attack someone just because you have different traditions in your country.

review is up on ign and it doesnt bode well
http://pc.ign.com/articles/702/702002p1.html
9.0 Presentation
One of the best storylines you can find on store shelves right now, though it has a particular dissatisfying element.
7.5 Graphics
Distinctive futuristic and fantastical environments are marred by awkward character animations.
8.5 Sound
Character voices inflect naturally, the music effectively sets the mood, and sound effects generally enhance the experience.
4.0 Gameplay
With simplified puzzles and terrible action sequences, there's little in Dreamfall to actually "play." Scenarios with multiple paths and conversation branches always result in the same thing anyway.
3.0 Lasting Appeal
Once you're through, there's little reason to go back. This is largely because the end result of your minor decisions is generally the same.

Let me guess they wanted to make another Farenheight Clone , anyway the same procedure was in Broken sword 3 ( 2d in 3d + action ).
What did you expect consoles allways made PC games dumb

its hard to take any one of the big review sites word on adventure games, the reviewers probably sit down to each new adventure game screaming "wheres the aliens?!!? how do i shoot?!" the best reviews of adventure games come from the adventure game sites themselves, who understand how they work, although it sucks that adventure games suffer because these big sites review scores can put off the casual gamer
