Norschleife is announced for early 24 as rebuild from scratch. if you look into the game files you see that every track is 3-4gb. expect a huge update for the nordschleife then (they havent said if paid or not)
this release is kinda useless. you need a online connection for most of the stuff
Still, the career mode that revolves around the concept of caRPG is likely designed to go hand in hand with the silly live service - where the player is a pawn in the game of Grind and where once again there are no qualifying sessions because reasons, in typical console simcade fashion.
I probably will get a lot of hard glares about it. But it's never bothered me or swayed my opinion of buying a game if it requires online connection even when it doesn't need it.
Im always online, not like I randomly unplug my cable modem for any reason. And sure it limits the games lifespan to rely on them having online up, but out of the 1000's of games I have played, after I grow tired of them I don't ever dust them off and play them.
Well maybe 1/2 a dozen games total since the late 80's early 90's when I got into gaming have I done that where I play game I owned that is more than 5-10 or so years old. (Minecraft, supcom, factorio..shit like that). Otherwise my steam library for example is a chronological order of games I put 100's or 1000's of hours into, then moved on from to collect dust at the bottom of my list if sorted by 'last played'.
I guess it doesn't bother me since most games that require online, are have MP. And by the time the online would run out, only 13 people are still playing it anyway. Online with no one, is just as empty as online that got taken down. (I RARELY do SP games unless sim/technical games)
Want to do SP section of that game yeeeears after its offline? It's usually cracked by that far along to work without it.

Looking into this game THIS is what is making me give it a pass:
Quote:
According to Turn 10 Studios, the game won’t include split-screen multiplayer, the ability to race against AI in various multiplayer modes, and a spectator mode. Creative director Chris Esaki said that the studio has its reasons for the decisions.
How me and my friends play MP, 3-4 of us with the rest AI. otherwise it's an empty boring race with 3 people on a track.

Managed to play for 3 hours yesterday... in the end settled with 3440x1440 maxed out + DLAA & without RT. During gameplay it is bottlenecked by CPU... dips to low 80s or even lower sometimes. The pre race animations are stutter fest always (maybe shader cache on first load of track???)... hopefully they will fix it with some updates & nvidia game ready drivers.... Another game forcing me to upgrade whole computer because i9 9900k is starting to show its age....
Wish there was more tracks. Hopefully they will add throughout the year at least 10 as free updates... (lets hope for same model as MS flight sim).
They could also bring a new optional preset for colors/saturation, they are really washed out compared to Horizon 5 or Forza 7...
Other than that game is fun & I know I will play it for many hours, so I don't mind paying extra for full package. Played shitload of hours on Forza 7 and only regretted I did not buy Premium back then.
Friend bought it for me that likes racing 2 days ago with the early access. As I like race sims, he loves arcade racing and buys the ones I won't pay for so I will play with him.
Will not run for me...no idea why:
-Bought on steam with early access..starts, mini splash screen. closes back to green 'play' in steam.
-refunded on steam bought on xbox app for PC, same thing.
-removed xbox app, xbox companion, reinstalled it all tried again.
-relogged into all MS stuff fresh
-same thing.
-refunded AGAIN on xbox app
-bought on steam again (where we prefer it anyway)
-Same deal.

Microsoft began making layoffs across its gaming division last week, just days after multiple rumours and reports started to swirl. While, at the time, it was thought almost 50% of Turn 10 staff were laid off, new reports now suggest the sim racer could be wound down completely.
Former Forza Motorsport content coordinator Fred Russell wrote on Facebook that "Turn 10 Studios has shuttered the Forza Motorsport space and the team is no more."
The few people that are left in Turn 10 will apparently be shifted off to Playground Games to work on Forza Horizon.
