theres still innovation in graphics even today and theres still no game like bf when u combine all the elements like big maps, vehicles, destruction, graphics, smoothness. sure u have ur cod ground war but its very static
frostbite is a really good looking engine and now its a problem cuz even the older games still look good
if this will be like bf 4 but with better everything then wats not to like
Sure the game can be fun if it's what you are looking for. But not everyone that has in interest in BF games (including myself) are gonna rush for the stores and pay 80 bucks for this. Sure they can innovate a bit, but it will be nothing groundbreaking.
It's not gonna sell like in the past. EA still thinks BF is an AAA concept. It's not. Gaming has changed.
In the BF3 era you had call of duty and BF competing for the throne.
Think the biggest FPS now is Fortnite. An F2P game with basic graphics for kids.
BF is nostalgia for us 40+ year olds. Full price FPS don't work anymore. Overwatch has also gone F2P for instance.
never payed more than 5-10e for each installment but yea u cant compete today with f2p games when ur game costs 80e....but i hear it will have f2p royale mode
bf peaked with bf1 in popularity then went downhill. bf is not that big as ea thinks but many want a new fps to play, im also looking for something new cuz ive been playing apex since forever since nothing else peaked my interest
Trailer is fine and sets the tone for a proper Battlefield game with modern armies/factions/soldiers without all the silliness (and wokeness) that we have seen in the last 2 games. Still, I agree that people shouldn't rush to pre-order (just a recommendation, just do as you wish) until the've properly tried the game, and thankfully we'll have the open beta for that. As an example, last 2 games I only bought 3 and 2 years respectively after their release just for pennies.
Also, I don't know if it has been already posted here, but DICE announced that in the open beta everyone will be able to choose between 2 playlists: one with class-locked weapons and another with no weapon restrictions.
An open beta will be fun.
But i'm never gonna pay full price for this as will many others . There is no way this is gonna be a succes, even if this game is good. Why pay full price? I have other BF games for the BF itch that are just fine and it will sell for under 10 euro's eventually.
Wouldn't be surprised if this is the last big BF game, the end of an era. Perhaps they'll go F2p only in the future or make cheaper games, remasters, that kind of stuff.
wats wrong with the trailer? just admit ur gaming days are over
No memorable scenes, no memorable music.
Till this day I remember scene from BF3 with F18 starting and tanks rolling.
And I remember that trailers had graphic that was something at that moment. Here? I don't see anything special.
Gaming days are over? I still play 20+ hrs a week. Well, maybe I just want a good game?

I've always hated that they started spending time and resources on shoehorning a single-player campaign into a multi-player only franchise. Don't get me wrong, I love single-player games (more so, by far, than multi-player or co-op ones) - but the essence of Battlefield, to it's very fucking core, has always been the multi-player.
Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2 and 2142 didn't have one. You know what they had though? FUCKING MAPS! On release, not 6 months - 3 years later. Shocking, I know!
It feels like with every new release this franchise undergoes, the map count gets smaller and smaller. Not only that, the physical size of the maps do too - inching ever closer to fucking COD/CS.
I don't know why I even bother caring at this point. Its been obvious, for quite some time, that it's long past its heyday, and more likely than not far beyond being able to be saved. But man, it really saddens me to see something that brought me so many fun memories in my early years being reduced to such a shell of its former self.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

:
BF2042 also doesn't have a single player campaign and that didn't stop it from being the worst BF game ever
About the maps, the list was leaked a few months ago and at least 10-11 multiplayer maps are expected, which would be a considerable improvement compared to the 7 maps at the release of BF2042.
Anyways, I don't care at all about the single player campaign (like many others in the BF playerbase) but the multiplayer has to be good if the franchise is going to survive, this is truly its last chance.
