Figured useless void best place, it is rather useless. And people can say what they want in replies in here 
Dunno if anyone remembers, got some legal shit come up last year. Been in courts this WHOLE time. courts slow as hell here.
Spoke to lawyer today. Not getting off with community control (house arrest) or probation. State wants that, and some mandatory time. Not SUPER long. My lawyers are starting at 3 months and see where they can get them to agree to.
So in a month or so (whenever my final court days is), I will be quiet on here. To the pleasure of some Im sure. LOL
If I disappear one day, I didn't die. I went to a place they don't let you have internet, or phones, or rights really. Time to start getting ready to put my brain in "Mikes Locked Up" mode, and ride out the months.
Thiiiis is gonna suck. Im 50 now, not in my 20s anymore. But hey, at least I got shitty food, back killing bunks, and fights with people (1/2 my age now) over stealing one of my commissary honey buns, to look forward to!

I dunno I rather fight with people online, than fight a 20 something jitterbug over $1.50 worth of commissary.
Before I was the "short pasty nerdy looking cracker" NOW I will be the "old short pasty nerdy looking cracker". More reason to try me.
Long as I don't get P-Farm. That place SUCKS. It's the "you work outside motherfucker" location. It's they type of place you think of when you hear bullpens (tiny fenced areas to keep you organized while waiting for the work bus), and chain gangs (what you do when off the bus).
At least in Jax, a fight starts in P-Farm, the guards are in no hurry. They wait until the two (or more) of you are wore out some before stepping into that mess. it's where I got my nose and cheekbone broke when I was 21. You think US healthcare sucks? Try US healthcare in custody.
Side tangent about that:

No shit. Hang out with shifty people, shifty shit happens. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Gonna be rough. I am 75% of the income in the house. Still got to see if I lose my job of 18 years...cross that bridge when I get to it. Don't even know how long I'm going to get, so cant talk to my boss and find out.
And the year it drug out was the worst timing. If they just let me plead and go last year (never denied I was guilty), I'd be done by now in those 12 months.
But now? Shits not fucked up, but that "we got some bumps", and I am usually the one driving our metaphorical car to safety most the time.
- Wifes dads dying, she wants to bring him home here in the next month or two (he can barely piss on his own), more burden on her with me gone.
- Sons life fell apart (he got married to a gas lighting, controlling 20 year old karen). Lost his job, moved back in here, and had a mental breakdown because he's back home, no job, no car (wife wrecked it) AND got his harpie wife calling him a loser POS nearly everday.
- Daughters got heavy into weed and drinking. Bad friends, bad decisions type thing (right??? let me tell you). She's a great kid/adult/whatever. Just bad people talked her into how 'fun' things can be, and she's young enough to listen to them and "DO ALL THE ADULT THINGS!" they told her she should try.
We manage with me as the mediator, voice of reason, and 'talk it down and through' (believe it or not. I just get fiesty here and out drinking and talking with friends like friends do. Otherwise pretty mellow overall).
Without me? Dunno. I'm the one they all come to when lifes "Shits bumming me, you help me work through it?". My wifes the motherly comfort and listen one of the team. I am the logical and problem solving one of the team. After moms helps you calm down and feel better. Come to me and we will see what we can work out to fix it, or at least make it less shit.
Already told my wife: IF ya want to sit me down, call me everything you can think of and then some. And tell me how much of a dumbass stupid motherfucker I am. Go for it. If you need to, I deserve it.
But luckily she went "No, that won't help anything. But I DO want to say, for as smart as you are..you can be fucking stupid" and left it at that

Don't you have visitations, phone calls rights to stay in touch with the family and continue to serve as a voice of reason even from inside?
Also can you use and abuse your prison time for some health insurance boons, perhaps, some light dental, some checkups?

Sucky situation, i hope for the best.
US prison doesn't seem particularly nice. I recently discovered that not even the calls you make from US prison are private (to the public), there's a YT channel dedicated to it and lets people listen to the calls the prisoners make, though of course, it is concentrated on the most infamous criminals.

Damn, I hope they will get it down to 3 months or as close as possible. Just keep your head down and be respectful towards the guards, subtly ingratiate yourself without becoming a bootlicker or a snitch. The jitterbug types can usually be handled if you come across as the wise old guy who listens and understands. Just agree with their delusions, don't ever be a smartass. This is important! They are deeply insecure people who can snap but in private and when they trust you many of them become very wimpy and emotional. Get some health stuff like Zenux said, whatever is free and the more days spent in the medical wing the better. Remember you are surrounded by low IQ people (inmates as well as guards), but if you identify every type and treat each accordingly they can be handled. And stay out of squabbles, not your business.

They don't offer those luxuries in our system. Unless you need medical services. They blow you off, or give you aspirin and tell you see if it gets better. Dental is: You need a tooth out? No? Then why the dental request?
Its purely 'preventative' enough so they cannot get sued or violating the laws for lack of care.
And we do get calls but for around a $1 a minute. If you can find a phone not being used. And 15 minutes calls at a time.
Unless you are one of the 'special' block guys. Then you can do 15 minutes, hang up and use it again, vs the unspoken rule of letting the next waiting use it.

Your right, calls are recorded and public info anyone can request. Visitations are recorded too.

That's my plan. Stay out of the way, and avoid the drama. But no one can totally avoid it. It's thats pro/con situation. Avoiding the drama and clique grouping, helps keep you out of it. But also points you out as a solo target for those looking for easy scores. So it's a pick your poison: You wanna only have to deal with people that have issues with you, or do you wanna deal with any issues people have with the clique overall, with backup.
So just do what I did other times: Go in, do my time, keep my head down, and handle dilemmas as they come: Is doing something now about it going to help stop it again, or is letting it slide going to bring me more of it.

Stupid shit with friends. No one was harmed, nothing was damaged or taken. Noting broken into or burgled.
It was all 'technically' crimes.
But shouldn't talk about it as a few charges I have are still open. To be dropped, but still open so lawyer telling me to shut up about it. As well as my friends is still totally open still.
Its my record that causes my time. If it was my first offense Id probably get a few months probation and some fines. But my 'points' from past charges add up to 7 years advised...for anything.
And some of THOSE counting towards my points I think are bullshit to add points: One was violation of probation long ago by being broke (Couldn't pay fees). One was not replying to a new felony register letter they mailed me, after I moved and didn't get it.

I wonder can one smartly choose a time and a prison to be likely overpopulated, and then after serving bare minimum be freed?

Maybe, fingers crossed that gain time is more generous for nonviolent crimes nowadays.
They are all over populated. But I don't pick which I go to, even my lawyer cant. But they are overcrowded as shit.
County jail here, when built was made for 2 men a cell. Now it's doubled up to 4 men per same sized cell. 4 men living in a room the size of a moderate bathroom. (About 2m x 4 or 5m?).
For profit incarceration, is a bitch. The more they hold in, the more they get paid per day to have them.
The vast majority of US prison are run by a for profit private entity. That local, state, and federal govt has contracts with. And food services is contracted out to another for profit catering service. So food quality has went to "What is the least we can legal feed them for the cheapest possible".

Thanks everyone. Im sure the range of concern here goes from genuine, to a bit (or a lot) of schadenfreude depending on the person.
And it's UV, so if anyone feels the need to tell me I am a dumbass, have at it. I earned it.
But as long as I don't need to have a war daddy, or someone expects me to be theirs for some reason. I'll survive.
Reaaaaaally sucks though.
90% of my concern is my job, and my family. I can handle me and come to terms with what I earned. How it impacts them is my worry.
Even went as far as telling my wife if bills get too big. Start selling all my woodshop tools. Start with what I don't 'need' like CNC and laser, then start selling my table saw, chop saw, planner, jointer, router setup, etc.
Gonna really miss those. Some I have had since I was in my 20's, some is my dad's when he passed away he had since I was a kid helping him.
But it's just items. Family first, since I caused the shit they would be in. Sell everything I own other than my computer (need that for work, even if I get a new job) if need be.

I was in arrest (not prison) for 9 days about a year and a half ago when they thought I did something I didn’t. Eventually, after months of worries and lawyer $€£¥, charges got dropped. When I got out of arrest, the first call I made, before calling a cab home, was to my boss, because I basically disappeared for 9 days. Luckily, he was understanding. Not all are. @DX have you told your work about your legal troubles? Are you taking an unpaid time off for the duration? I always say one should be forthcoming, but I don’t know about your situation, maybe keeping it quiet is the better move.

I'm still puzzled as hell by you or by American system as a whole. How a responsible family man doesn't have a financial buffer of your own, of your parents', of state's for situations like these 
First thing they need to sell is all computers, smart phones, flash drives, and all your cloud storages.
So that you lose your nforce pass one more time.

Talked to my direct boss, but until I know exactly how long not much we can work on. And then it's not his call, its the 'big' bosses. And 3 months vs 5 months could be "Sure take your month vacation, and not get paid for 2 more months" to "Call us in 5 months and we see if we still have room/need for you"

We did have a buffer, this cost around 45,000 total (15k bond, 20k lawyer, paying $20 a day for ankle monitor while waiting..for the last year, other shit).
So that took a big chunk of our emergency/on hand can access money.
Everything else is 401k/retirement funds, or places there is a huge hassle/penalty for taking from quickly.
I sold all my 4-5k I had in crypto for 'garage toy' money last oct, which sucks, since it nearly doubled since the day I sold it all.

Even in Israel, every young couple has a mortgage, let alone living expenses and kids. Can you imagine one of the providers has to drop of the face of the earth for a few months? I don’t think you’ve ever considered how many would just drown in dept. yes, the US is probably the worst of the western world, where getting a medical diagnosis brings you to your knees financially, but all over the world, people are living מן היד אל הפה, even if the lifestyle seems high (and it is).

What I can say until my friends is done. Its realllllly stupid:
Allegedly, they claim, we vandalized city property in a park at 3am. Involving two walk path light poles, accessing their inner workings and illegally tampering with, and illegally tapping power off of, to run a handful of automatable stage/club lights my stage tech friend had in his car trunk.
According to the report anyway, so we could sync them to automate to the 'stage speakers' in my jeep. I don't own stage speakers. I just got a carpeted dual 15" subwoofer box and mids and high to go with it.
Also a charge of hosting an illegal concert that served alcohol. BUT was only 3 of us, and the alcohol found was 2 bottles I owned unopened (as of the time) in my jeep.
